22oz Bottle. The pour was a muddy jet black with an average (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head that reduced to a scattered film and medium collar with good spotty lacing. The aroma was of burnt malts, light resin hops and a leathery yeast with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a touch of smoke. The taste was lightly malty sweet with a bit of vanilla at first, and then a bold bitter roastiness settled in along with hints of chocolate, coffee and a touch of smoke towards the end. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with a bitter coffee taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was a few steps past medium in body with a dry, oily texture and a soft carbonation. Overall this was a robustly tasty Porter, with a strong vanilla presence that you could actually taste for a change. It also offered a good balance of flavors with a smooth and easy drinkability...

Pours a thin, white head atop a deep brown body. Nose of toasty, cocoa and vanilla. Flavour is purely vanilla, deep and brown sugar. Okay.

Tasting at Matts
Dark brown color with small head. Light vanilla aroma, cheap chocolate. The vanilla and the dark malts create a flavor that is a bit artificial, cheap chocolate.
Not a bad beer, but it just goes in one direction, so if you like that direction

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of vanilla upfront, followed by a touch of coffee. Flavour is along the same lines, with loads of vanilla upfront, with secondary notes of coffee and a touch of roast. Simple, but well-made for what it is. Solid stuff.

Bomber in Portland. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate, vanilla and a bit of coffee. Pours black with a thin light brown head with decent retention and some lacing. Starts with good roasted malt flavors with chocolate sweetness added in. Finishes really smooth with a nice bit of vanilla and a touch of coffee. Nice vanilla porter.

Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Looks like a porter. A quirky aroma. Dark dry chocolate. The flavor is full of chocolate with lesser vanilla. Then I taste coffee and that is where the quirkiness comes in. The coffee just doesnt rock the vanilla like chocolate does. Lots of earth here along with the bitter coffee and chocolate. I wouldnt mind seeing more vanilla pop up. Later some citrus that featured oranges emerged. I love me some vanilla porter. However, I couldnt get into this one. That coffee and bitterness just didnt work.
