Bollenstreek Ale is the latest creation of Klein Duimpje in 2001. It’s a light amber coloured beer. Easy drinkable and refreshing. Malty and a little hopbitter in the finish. According to the brewer the beer grows in a DNA manipulated tulip field near the brewery as shown on the label. The location of this tulip field is the number one secret of the brewery.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 30 Aug 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, apricots and orange. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricot marmalade, orange, dried fruit and a gentle floral bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain candy sugar sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, honey, candy sugar, some spiciness, metallic notes. Flavour is awfully sweet, candy sugar. Not for me.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and caramel sweetish aroma, light floral fruitiness and faint citrus hoppyness, light yeast. Medium, malty and caramel sweetish flavor, light floral fruitiness, light citrus hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty - light wheat and caramel sweetish, light fruitiness and light citrus hoppyness. For those with sweet tooth.

Bottle 330 ml from a trade with Countbeer, thanks! Poured into a tulip glass. ABV 7% Deep orange colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small white head. Thin, with good retention nevertheless. Medium lacing on the glass. Aroma is moslty malts, candy sugar, some oxidation that gives it wine-like aromas. Taste is quite sweet and malty, lots of metallic notes, more candy sugar, light sour white grapes. medium thin body, okay carbonation. Overall: This was okay, to tell the truth its three months past its BBD but I dont think this played a sigificant role, three months its not -that- old! Still it was quite drinkable.

Smells of horseradish, very spicey... dill, thyme... and hey i even smell some Dutch Seedcake (kruidkoek). Tastes like wel... actually i tasted the bloembollen (bulbs). Very diverse and many flavours.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has a note of boiled apple, a touch of honey, cautious hints of yeast. Taste is moderately sweet malty, slightly unspecific fruity, some honey, some yeast. Not overly complex but nicely balanced and not too sweet. OK.

Countbeer (6534) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle: Medium ashy white head, disappears with regular speed and leaves a closed thin lacing on top of a hazy yellow orange colored beer. Smell caramel, corny sweetness, lactic acid, barley malts, obvious yeast (fruit) tones, hidden sugars, light hidden wood vinous tones, porridge, autumnal ish herbs and orange. Taste is a mix of barley malts, hay, corn, card board, light spicy, light bitter (but longer lasting), nasty herby bitterness, light dry, some bitter fruit tones, cornflakes, yeast, light fruity like orange and pear, floral herbs and light white chocolate tints. Aftertaste is herbs and grass, light dry, bitter tones like grapefruit bitterness, Medium carbo, soft light spicy/tingly mouthfeel, nothing more than a medium bodied beer and a creamy texture. Unbalanced, strange... Not my cup of tea. Even got the feeling this beer nauseated me a bit. Light drainpour..

Hazy gold beer. Good frothy white head. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Smooth light malt, a little creamy bit also semi dry. A little minerals and repressed insipid fruits. Insipid beer!
