Bottled(330ml). -In De Wildeman.
Dark brown/ruby coloured, medium to big pale brown head, milky? nose. Roasted malt and chocolate taste with notes of nuts and vanilla. Very ordinary porter and to be honest, I’ve expected much better beer.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2007 Bottle @ YNWA. Pours a deep red golden with a medium off-white creamy head. There is a lot of lacing going on. Aroma is mild, lightly roasted - very british in feel. Flavour is roasted as well with a dose of fruityness. Surprisingly nice.

FatPhil (16956) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 13, 2007
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2007 330ml bottle (Poirotti, Helsinki) Dark reddy brown, almost black. Thick beige head., lively and self-supporting. Bitter, part ginger part grapefruit, hoppy aroma, some apple too, but buoyed by a huge rich malt aroma. Deeply roasted rich maltiness, covers the tongue and stays for a while.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, small white head. Aroma is weak, malty and caramellish with hints of also coffee, roast and a bit chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts and some cookies. Quite watery to the palate, but otherwise it was very nice when being served at about 13-14 C degrees.

Bottle at home. Dark, ruby red with wheaty, malty chestnut-coloured foam. Bready aroma. Strong, chocolate, sweet and tangy taste. Prickly mouthfeel with sharp finish. Enjoyable, best of the night. But ultimately a let-down.

iep (230) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 2, 2006
Looks pretty nice, dark red with a dense & long lasting head. Has a kinda boring malty, slightly chocolate-ish aroma, not much going on. The aroma is not unpleasant either. Inoffensive cookie-cutter porter taste which I enjoyed for about two sips. The mouthfeel is nice and creamy but a bit watery. Altogether one-dimensional and unexciting, but pleasant to drink. Not bad, but pretty forgettable, which is a pity since its one of the only porters available here in The Netherlands.

Bottle. Reddish dark with a beige head. Yeast and citrus seemed to dominate the typical porter aroma. A hint of tobacco in flavour which was is also a bit acidic yet fresh. Soft palate. Needs character.
