Zwart & Straf Winterbier

330ml bottle at Football Bar, Xiamen. Pours black. Metallic aroma of malt and chocolate. Sweet taste and finish. More like a strong Schwartz.

Bottle. Black with a medium head that quickly dissipated. Full bodied with a strong mouthfeel. Despite a strong presence of alcohol it is easy to drink although preferably slowly as it has quite a kick.

Awesome quad, very complex, very dark reddish color, thin off-white head, flavors included candi sugar, sweet maltiness, warming effect from the alcohol level, slight hint of dark chocolate, malty and roasty finish

Tap @ Gastropub Tuulensuu.
Pours dark brown color with a large head. Aroma is very spicy and malty with caramel sweetness, dried fruits, also some chocolaty notes, bready. Creamy smooth chocolaty and bready flavor with subtle spice notes, dried fruits, some earthy tones and very faint wooden tones. Pleasant, alcohol deceptively well hidden.

Belmont Party Supply / Dayton OH --- Aroma of malt and sweet yeast. Nearly opaque brown / black color, deep tan head that stays at 1", lace cobwebs. Taste is rich malt that grows more caramel-y as it moves through a medium carbonated swallow, then dark chocolate on the way to a finish that has only a hint of hops. Big and malty, but not heavy in the belly. The alcohol is not strong. A really memorable full-bodied Belgian Strong. Id buy it again.

Donker (bijna zwart) met fijne schuimkraag. Beetje zurig aroma (herfstbladeren). Smaken van toffee, mokka, licht zurig. Licht zoetige afdronk. Niet de beste van Het Nest maar meer dan behoorlijk.

Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, dried fruit and liquorice.

Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige head.

Medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, dried fruit and liquorice.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. The aroma is rather weak however and the palate could have been better. The flavour is great despite all this!
