Bottled. Hazy amber coloured with a medium sized head. Malty and sweet with notes of dark fruit and and dark chocolate. Slightly sour and has a somewhat dry finish. BelgianBeerGal (4066) - Panama City, Florida, USA - JUL 21, 2007
Draft at the abbey. Poured nicely but seemed a thin mouthfeel for a dunkel. Hints of chocolate and malt were nice. Rune (12735) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 14, 2007
500ml swing-top bottle brought back from Trier in Germany and enjoyed at home in Tromsø on a Saturday eve. Pours a big thick and rocky yellow-brownish head with good retention, blanketing the glass. Slightly hazy, tan body. Quite solid aroma of dark chocolate. Shortage of taste at first, then becoming malty as it warms. Skilful blend of dark and brown roasted malts with hints of raisin and nuts beneath. Dry and dusty aftertaste (13.10.2007). delnoche (516) - Alamogordo, New Mexico, USA - NOV 20, 2010
50cl bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Dark amber brown with plenty of creamy tan head. Aroma is malt and old basement. Flavor is very malty, strong oak, slight alcohol. Medium body, high carbonation. Finish is lasting, slightly bitter.

Shared with Bierkrug, on tap - thanks for the introduction to a new place! Roasted malts, slightly sour taste with sweet caramel overtones. Lasting aftertaste. Decent. bierkoning (13349) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2017
Swing top bottle, thanks Beerhunter111! Dark Brown color. Caramel And chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweetish, bready caramelly flavor with milk chocolate. Almost Full bodied. Decent. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 29, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a small, rough, off-white head. Lightly tart and malty nose. Medium-bodied with lightly tart and vinous accents. Has a vaguely smoked note. A dry finish. Not your typical Dunkel, but not uninteresting. 220906 fiulijn (20491) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 9, 2008
Draught at the brewpubMiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 2, 2006
Cloudy chestnut color. The aroma is very mild. The flavor too is not exciting, with some mild caramel and nothing else; it has a very low bitterness. Drinkable, refreshing Dunkel, but too simple.
Bottle, 5.2% as Dunkel Naturtrüb. Slightly roasted aroma. Smoky flavour, a bit of bacon and still malty. Sour aftertaste.
