inbirraveritas (1576) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 2, 2012
Bottled. Nearly non-transparent black/ruby body, beige head. Smell of molasses and black bread. Heavy malty aroma ruled by molasses, black bread and dough underpainted by mild roasted malt and grassy hops. Usually Schwarzbier charactered, somewhat thin mouthfeel. Mild roasty, sweetbitter finish. Tasty, easy drinkable brew .

5.2%ABV Flip-top, half-litre bottleBBD 19 Jan 2013: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard @ home on 21 Nov 2012. Large pop as I opened the bottle, the beer wanted to get out: the glass filled with tanned foam and only half the actual beer left the bottle before my glass almost overflowed with the huge head I’d produced. Once everything had calmed down a bit I poured the remaining beer into my glass and had a good sniff: toasted/roasted bread/biscuity malt esters in the smell. The taste was also mostly of malts, I found some toffee flavours before stronger dark chocolate and mildly hoppy finish rounded off each sip. This is one of the better brews I’ve had in this style: more depth of flavour and body strength from start to finish.

kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 14, 2012
The head is ok, the body black. The taste is sweet, darkmalty, a bit flat, sour-pulvery-flat, also a bit watery. Medium. 11/8/8/9/11/8

Test vom 13.11.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,6,7,7,12,7 - 7,60

Blasphemer (111) - Bavaria, GERMANY - SEP 23, 2012

kevnic2008 (11996) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - SEP 21, 2012
Blackish beer with a light tan head. Light roast aroma. Roast and malt flavor with light chocolate.

blipp (9268) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Draft. Poured into a ceramic mug with an off white head. Toasted bread, a little bit of weird malty sweetness, and a toffee-sweet malty finish. Decent.

rauchbierlover (648) - Berlin, Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 13, 2012
Black body with a small and not persistent beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee. Lactose aftertaste. Body is low, carbonation is medium

WVBrU (61) - - JUL 18, 2012
Black beer with a great tan head that lasted for the whole experience and created great lacing. Malty and roasty. Full bodied with a thick/creamy texture.
