Dark color with a nice head. The taste is hard roasted malts, coffee. Finished kind of watery but with hints of smoked malts and whiskey? AndersR (196) - Århus, DENMARK - MAR 19, 2005
Black brown with small tan head. Smokey roasted grain aroma with hints of coffee. Flavor gives more roasted notes and coffee too, but in a pleasent balanced way. A very dry finish. A very descent schwarz. Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 12, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a dark mahogany with a reddish glow and a creamy, off-white head. Malty, roasted nose. Medium-bodied with lots of hard roasted malt and a lightly smoked edge. Burned, bitter finish. 060605 MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2008
A Mes rate: Gravity serving at Zeitgeist.Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 21, 2009
Very dark cloudy brown with a thin off white head. Grainy aroma, slightly sour with some spice and toffee. Lemony sourness in the flavour, tangy malt. Ok but not amazing.
Draft at the brewery. Black, pretty much opaque with a slight red tint. Fizzy but lasting beige head and no lacing. The slightest hint of diacetyl is here, strange! Wet grain aromas. Brisk carbonation is light and refreshing. Nice toastiness and burnt qualities. The sourness is strange but falls just short of being offensive.

Gravity at Zeitgeist Bier Mania Oktoberfest 08. Deep ruby black with a dense beige head. Roasty and chocolatey with smooth carbonation. Hops are slightly tinny. Not so rounded for a German beer but far more interesting than most. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2009
