0.5l bottle from #177. Looks quite good in the glass with a deep blurry really dark amber red body under a medium sized light bubbly but lasting beige head. On the nose I get a nice sweet caramel and fruit sweetness. Red apples with a faint darkness in the back. It’s father fruitiness that dominates this and I’m liking it. It has a thin oily feeling in the mouth while it’s soft on the bubbles. Really soft. Nothing to say on the flavors here. Fruity caramel with a good hoppy kick. Red berries and traces of something slightly roasted before its giving me licorice. Dried licorice. Lots of flavor and IMO a really successful amber. It’s really lightdrinkable this. I’m so impressed that I can honestly say that this is something I want to have again. Not often that happens in these kinds of beers. 29.03.2014 MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 9, 2014
My Bottom Line:visionthing (5528) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 24, 2014
This distinctly herbal Amber Ale works in tandem with rye spiciness, leading to earthy bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam laces around the cloudy amber.
-Effervescence is higher than expected.
-Mouthfeel is also drier than usual for the style (which is a good thing, in this case).
-Mild fruitiness is tasted underneath the herbal dominance.
-This is an Amber Ale that is not dialed in, which is nice for a change!
50cl bottle from Meny Bjølsen, Oslo. Pours hazy dark amber with a tan head.
Medium malty aroma with some roasty notes, quite strong hop presence with fruity, citrusy and lightly piney notes. Caramel, herbs and just a hint of smoke. Moderate to medium sweet with a fairly dry and bitter finish with note of citrus. Nice, flavourfull and sessionable. OleR (4849) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 14, 2014
A tall lacing tanned top, on a deep reddish-amber body. Pleasant aroma of red berries and biscuity malts. Light to medium full. Clean and fresh sourish-bready malt flavor. A good dose of herbal and earthy bittering hops here. Mouth-drying herbal-bitter finish. Very likeable this one, with its fresh malty sourness. Bottle. A clear, dark amber colored beer with a small, off-white head that lasts. The aroma has a pleasant roasted touch, with caramel, or maybe rather toffee, and a balancing citrusy, flowery touch. The flavor is balanced and smooth, not intense in any way, with lightly roasted maltyness, borderline coffee, and resiny hintes and some lemon peel. Medium to full body, dry and softly carbonated. Roasted finish. A tasteful beer that I bet would be nice with some BBQ. 120326 oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 28, 2012

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Malty aroma of bread, oak and some forest floor and dried fruit. The flavour is similar but is sweet at first with bread, caramel and grass and hops in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light to medium bitterness. A malty and nice ale. Little hops though.
