2010 vintage at the brewpub. Liquorice, slightly salty, coffee, smoke, soot, oak. The brewer claims it has a rough edge, I found this smooth and highly enjoyable.
Bottle sample @ Bryggerifestivalen i Trøndelag. Pitch black body, small off-white head. Nose is licorice, coffee, dark malts, burnt toast, grains and hints of dark chocolate. Taste is smokey coffee tones, dark chocolate, alcohol, bitter herbs, licorice and hints of cocoa and leather. Long cocoa-fueled aftertaste. Very nice. Full body, medium carbonation. Rock solid imp stout from Klostergården. omhper (24970) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2012
Draught at the brewpub (2011 vintage). Very black, beige head. Heavily roasty with salty licorice and salmiak. Dry and near full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Salmiak takes over a warming finish with marked bitterness. Despite the heavy roastiness it is a hugely drinkable stout for its size.
