Bottle at the brewpub. Now we are getting close to Norwegian micros breweries finding their own voice. Very dark brown, fluffy beige head. Smoky aroma. Smoke, soot, sweetness, full bodied. Balanced, pleasant, but there is a wild streak of barnyard, ropes and dirt at the back.

Holmen2 (3880) - NORWAY - NOV 28, 2015
Backlog. Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 22.04.13. Dark brown. Small head. Aroma of smoked malt, bacon and whisky. Tate of smoke, with both sourness and sweetness. Bitter creosote and some sweetness in aftertaste. Round mouthfeel. Descent drinkability for a smoke beer.

Dark hazy red with small white foam. Aroma is smoked peat funky barn. Taste is for me running over with smoke and covering over the maltyness. The peat doesnt feel balanced for me here

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff april-13: aroma og smak preget av røykmalten, dog ikke så kraftig at det blir kreosotpreget. Myk munnfylde med litt sødme som gjrø den forholdsvis lettdrikkelig. Interessant samarbeidsbrygg med Inderøy. Einerpreget finner jeg ikke.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours very dark ruby with a small white head.Aroma of smoked meat, creosot and horseblanket. Taste is light sweet malts, drowned by the smoke. Lingering malty with a light salty addition to the smoke. Nice

Sigmund (7818) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 22, 2013
Shared 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.1%. Brewed in cooperation with Inderøy Gårdsbryggeri - at Inderøy. Dark brown colour, nearly black. moderate beige head. Intense aroma of smoked "stjørdalsmalt" and smoked meat, some mild roasty notes in the background. The flavour is surprisingly mild and smooth, some initial sweetness, nearly void of hops. Smoked of course, but not extreme. Smoked meat lingers in the nose for a long time after the last sip - more than any real aftertaste.

On bottle at Beer13. Black color, good foam. High intensity smoky aromas, bacon, coffee. Medium/full body & complexity. Good bitterness, well balanced. Enjoyable
