A citra bomb - I’m not a big citra fan but I can’t fault this - great sweet caramel malt makes it balanced and super opulent.

I think the average beer drinker would think this was an IPA just from the taste. Not sure who it’s just a pale ale, "extra" or not. This is very much in the mold of its big brother Hoptologist and even BIGGER older brother Simtra. Same big citrusy aroma, sweet taste and balancing hop explosion on the back. Really wish this came in six-packs, as it would be a great daily drinker for those who want huge hop flavor but not the 10-11.25% abv of the bigger beers in their line-up.

I like everything I have had from knee deep. This is no exception. I did notice a flatness in it, I think that is from the single hop aspect. It says single hop right in the bottle, so can’t really fault them for that. It is really good compared to most other single ipa’s I have had.

Many 16oz samples on tap at the Davis Graduate. The aroma on this is insane with so much citrus. Mostly mango and passionfruit with some lemon and a little grapefruit. Heavily hopped, and greatly quaffable. Transparent copper body with a frothy off-white head that leaves good lacing. This beer starts more like it smells. Tons of citrus mango and more heavily with grapefruit. The maltiness is there, but it stays in the background enough to balance and showcase the hop. Not overly bitter, but just a beautiful beer and a beautiful hop. Well done!

22oz bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Good retention and lacing. Citrus, pine, not too malty. I really like this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from De Molen Netherlands. Pours a clear (ish) blonde. The aroma is pine, citrus and flowery. Beer is superbly balanced with malts and hops. Overall a fabulous beer.

Extra par ale? Why confuse us with this name. It's an imperial IPA. Tasty. Hops are almost too intense. Unique but not something I would drink a lot of. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
