Pours amber with a lasting white head. Aroma is dank, herbal and chewy w/ high alpha hops apparent. Flavor is decidedly hop/bitter forward but with solid malt to back it up. Finish lingers into clinging bitterness that sticks around for a while. Tastes like good IPA homebrew. Overall this beer is more of a Imperial American Amber Ale, but still has the hops of a DIPA, the fault I find is the hops are a bit rough and unrefined, malt bill is too dark with too much crystal and specialty malts. Otherwise a well crafted IPA. Thanks to Sean in the Bay Area for the kick down! bhensonb (15347) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 20, 2011
Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours rather orange with a slight white head. Aromas of peach and citrus. Lush fruity and floral flavors. Nicely bitter. Excellently smooth and tasty. marcus (10337) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 20, 2011
Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours clear golden with a modest off-white head and floral bready aroma. There is a nice pale malt flavor that starts sweet and finishes slightly sour with some banana ester and a fair amount of hop bitterness. Very well-balanced. popery (2170) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 6, 2011
An interesting and solid DIPA. This beer didn’t start off great, but once warmed, it gained something. It’s mildly bitter, though rich in hop flavor. The hop aroma could use more strength, but it’s a nice mix of herbs (sage, maybe), mint, pine and tangerine. Mouthfeel is light - felt a bit watery when cold. Good beer. I was pleasantly surprised.

Poured into a shaker glass. Colour is very nice, and very clear. Thin white head, with thin lacing on the glass. Flavour is not too bitter, and very clean. Overall a decent IPA that is worth giving a shot. DYCSoccer17 (3703) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 24, 2011
So I am entering this beer here. 22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget Market in Davis, CA. The label on this is black, and it clearly states that it is 8.0% ABV. This is different than the label on ratebeer.com that is listed for Knee Deep IPA. This beer is also brewed at Sudwerk in Davis, CA, according to the label. The aroma is a bit floral, herbal, and citrus with hints of cleanser present. Fairly straight forward. Transparent orange body with a medium off-yellowish head that has good retention. Starts with some citrus grapefruity hops, before this becomes a little toasted and burnt in the middle. Pretty thin, and seems to lack a malt backbone. There is definitely some booze here later, which is poorly hidden by some herbal hop flavors. A little thin, harsh, boozy, and rough around the edges. bb (9519) - Alamo, California, USA - MAY 6, 2011
Bottle. Amber beer with a ceram colored head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Pine and grapefruit flavor with light summer fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and grapefruit lingers with malt and light summer fruit. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 22, 2011
Pours orange with a large fluffy off white head. The aroma is fruity hoppy with some minerals, and a touch of phenolic compounds. The flavor is fruity and bitter with notes of strawberry, grapefruit, and pine in the finish. Very light bodied. decent. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - APR 13, 2011
Dark amber pour with a smallish white head. The aroma is juicy citrus hop with some evergreen and caramel biscuit. The flavor holds some spicy earthen evergreen, more citrus, and a nice bready malt character. The palate is medium for the style, with low carbonation and a soft mouthfeel.
