Bomber graciously shared at the last Tampa crew tasting. Thanks to the kind soul who shared it. Pours a somewhat hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is light malt with big hops. Seriously. Mild caramel followed with big pine and light citrus. Flavor is similar- hop assault. West Coast-style IPA. Medium in body and overall pretty good. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Tasted at the Bistro’s 13th Annual IPA Fest 8/7/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy and fruity. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy. Nice balance. Medium to mild bitterness. Good carbonation. It’s a touch sweeter and less hoppy than most IPAs. Nice flavor, just not many hops. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. jgb9348 (6256) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 7, 2012
Great, slightly hazy copper coloured body with a super thick, eight centimetre tall tan head - a bit too much carbonation in this one! Aroma of light grass, herbal notes, pine and a touch of pineapple - some malt as well. Medium-bodied; Metallic flavour at first with a herbal, earthy grassy malt and hop characteristic then showing some alcohol and bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows more alcohol, malt and earth than the style usually has, and perhaps quite a bit less hops than usual as well - especially for a West Coast IPA. Overall, an interesting take (more earthy/malty) on an IPA, but not a great one considering the options on the West Coast. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Francisco (Geary Blvd), California on 14-January-2012 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 07-March-2012. Draft. Clear amber pour, off white head. Bitter hops, grassy, sweet caramel malt, light citrus, and a bit metallic. I don’t like it too much, rather sweet and abrasively bitter. julieimagery (182) - Coconut creek, Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2012
Tasted at Total Wine tasting. Third favorite of four. A decent amount of citrus but had a nice grapefruit taste that balanced and sweetened it up a bit.
