WOW!, Better that the original. Big, bold and well put together. Can’t even taste the alcohol. Shadallion (534) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Knee Deep’s hit parade keeps on marching. This is far and away the best porter I’ve ever had. The vanilla gives an enticing counterpoint to the roasted malts, it’s thick and chewy without being overly heavy. It’s a big beast of a beer, but restrained enough for easy drinking. A must try for dark beer fans. krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - JUL 10, 2013
deep dark rich mahogany color. Slightly penetrated by light. Brown head. Chocolate scents with light cherry in the back. Tastes like a chocolate cherry pie that pleasantly fades. This was the imperial cherry tanilla. revolverlbc (22) - California, USA - DEC 7, 2012
I wish all beer was made by people who love beer this much. The secret of this beer is that they only add just enough vanilla to compliment what would be a fine porter on it’s own. This may be my favorite porter of ever. Aquilo (658) - Berkeley, California, USA - APR 19, 2014
Black with a thick head. Vanilla and oak aroma with a hint of cherries. Very well balanced bittersweet flavor. This is like an amazing chocolate bar in liquid form.

Bottle [from trade with mista if I’m not mistaken] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Opaque dark brown to black color with a dark red glare coming through when held into the light, medium sized light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark malts and vanilla. Taste malts, dark malts, liquorice, firm vanilla, soft sweetness, light bitterness, coffee amd espresso lightly, some chocolate, slightly some hops come through as well. Medium to full body, suitable soft yet sort of medium carbonation. Very nice. dhunter151 (590) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Coffee taste with a hint of vanilla on the finish. Hides the alcohol well.

An incredible beer. One of our favorites. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick tan head. Smells awesome, mostly vanilla, but some caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg in the smell. Taste is creamy, starts off with vanilla and cinnamon, then some macadamia nuts and toasted coconut in the finish. Great for a cold night. Some of the most natural tasting vanilla we’ve had in a beer. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 16, 2012
A - Pours a dark brown-black color with a thin finger of frothy khaki-chocolate colored head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of roasted chocolate malts, roasted coffee, vanilla, some earthy hops, and a touch of dark fruit and booze.
T - Starts off with a mix of roasted chocolate malts with some caramel malts, vanilla, and a hint of dark fruit. Through the middle, some roasted coffee come through with some earthy hops, a touch of bitterness, and some more vanilla. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate and coffee with vanilla, a touch of dark fruit, and a hint of booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth and a touch thick with a sweet, roasty, and warming finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice big porter with a good balance of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla and enough body to balance. bluejacket74 (1993) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - MAR 1, 2014
22 ounce bottle, bottled on date of 02/05/14. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is very nice, the brew smells like vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, and some coffee. Not surprisingly, the taste is similar to the aroma. It tastes like roasted and burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and some molasses. Nice mix of both bitter and sweet flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and has a moderate amount of carbonation. 10% ABV is well hidden. I think this is a good brew, I wouldn’t mind picking up another bottle. $6.99 a bomber.
