10/8/12 bomber from papago.
dark importer brown color approaching black with a creamy cappuccino head.
big floral and estery nose... along with roast are the only notes i get until it hits about 70 degrees....after, fermented vanilla, umami, lactose, butterscotch and molasses.
the flavor shows about the same thing but with some banana and a mild bitterness on the finish. this really doesn’t taste like anything i would expect....no real oily vanilla, no choco, no coffee...odd.
the texture is nice however... big and creamy but controlled enough to finish. 5/4/5/4/13
Nice strong dark brown head of varying sized bubbles. Rich and malty aroma with some vanilla, roasted grains, anise, sweet malts and some molasses. Color is a very dark brown. Complex flavor with licorice, dark roasted malts, burnt sugar, a hint of smoke and some dry dusty grains. Moderate alcohol presence and warming. Finishes creamy and malty with lingering vanilla. A damn good porter. PugUglyBrewer (743) - - JUN 9, 2017
Opaque black color with a thin creamy head of light tan foam. Not as heavy on the vanilla as promoted. Vanilla driven however with some cocoa and coffee roast to back it up. Smooth and delicious. Patersoi (165) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2017
Hoping for more bouquet from the double vanilla. Pours viscous Black with super fine honeycomb head. The vanilla is upfront and present along with sweet malt but too much else. Hints of charcoal in the early finish where the vanilla makes its presence further felt. The alcohol is never fully balanced off throughout. Perhaps less alcohol and a few different malts would have added some complexity.

650 Ml Bottle
dark cola color that settles black in the glass. thick light tan head. Good body to the head, slowly falls to a thick collar. Big soap like rings on the sides of the glass.
Smells like a milkshake. Coffee, vanilla, roasted and burnt grain. Slight burnt tire and earthyness to this. Very solid nose.
taste is heavy on the vanilla, soft coffee, earthy grain and malts. Touches of burnt tire. Had on tap before and was a sweet vanilla bomb. More rounded with some time.
Still sweet but more rounded. Not as much vanilla when had on tap.
Medium bodied. Slightly creamy in the mouth. Little hints of booze but harder to drink due to the vanilla sweetness. Still pretty solid. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - JAN 27, 2017
Black beer. Tastes like cocoa and milk chocolate with a little sharpness from the roasted malt.

650 ml bottle without any kind of date coding. Full fluffy tan head on a pitch black liquid, great retention. Aroma is mild chocolate, roast grain, vanilla bean. SG111 (1937) - New York, USA - NOV 19, 2016
Flavor is moderate roasted malt, decent chocolate nuance with a lingering vanilla finish. Body is medium plus with a creamy texture and mouthfeel. 10% ABV is hidden completely. Nice Impy Porter.
Tap at Clubhouse BFD. Pours black creamy tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, bit of vanilla. I don’t get much of it, but I’m sure it’s in there more than I’m getting. May be congested, messing with nose and so flavor. Super creamy body and full. Best aspect of this beer. Medium bitterness coffee finish. MetalNHopHead (2089) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - SEP 25, 2016
Dark beers with vanilla tend to showcase it in a way that shows off the raw spicy side of vanilla or the hedonistic sweet side. Imperial Tanilla hits it right in the middle. You can definitely detect some in the aroma along with cocoa and mild coffee notes (which makes for a nice brownie-like nose). This beer has velvety rich feel but only a partially sweet flavor. I do have a sweet tooth and would like a little more vanilla, but this beer’s balance is perfect in a technical sense. Nothing gets overshadowed or is given the chance to overstay its welcome. It’s classy stuff for sure. HuskerTan (2323) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - SEP 24, 2016
A- Vanilla ice cream, subtle alcohol, roasted malt.
A- Black color, black liquid, tan head.
T- Vanilla sweet cream, roasty, bakers cocoa.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- For having double the vanilla, the vanilla didn’t necessarily come through that much more. Pretty subtle actually.
