Bottle from Capitol beer, Sacramento . Pours caramel with a transient beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a delicious caramel malt backbone with a hefty dose of Citra hops. Another great beer from this brewer. bhensonb (15747) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours clear amber with a transient head. Aroma is pine/citrus. Quite nice. Med body. Flavor is fresh resin and citrus. It is very pleasant. Light roasty backbone. finishes somewhat harshly bitter. Hi-five! But the finish smooths down to tasty/bitter. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - FEB 13, 2013
On draft at the 2013 SF beer week opening celebration. It pours a light orange color with a white head. The aroma is piney and lightly phenolic with hoppy and yeast esters. The flavor is nice. Fruit, citrus, pine and mild yeast esters. Maybe a bit minty? It has a bitter finish, but not overpowering. Well executed for a Belgian IIPA. bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 20, 2013
Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and yeast aroma with light pine. Grapefruit and pine flavor with yeast. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with light malt and light yeast. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 17, 2014
"golden color, slightly hazy. Fresh aroma and taste being brewed last week. light in comparison to other doubles in the tasting. light sweetness that would not have been evident as belgian yeast if it weren’t on the label...but the hops are good. Better and more obviously Belgian on tap. 3.7-3.9."

From track 7 growler at winterfest.pours golden with fluffy white head. The aroma was pungent pine with an overwhelming belgium yeast. The taste was belgium yeast, lots of banana and spices. Some bitterness to finish it off. whicheck (82) - California, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Foamy head. Looks like Apple juice in the color. Very clear. The hops are nice with the balanced yeast and malts. Slight bitterness sticks to the palate but fairly mild. especially for the 9.1 abv. Not a favorite but a good beer. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - APR 14, 2013
Sampled on 4/12/2013. The Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, some apricot and peach with some grapefruity hops. A medium bodied Imperial Belgian India Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, The hops are grapefruity and floral. Nice balance between the fruity, yeasty and hoppy. Decent carbonation. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - NOV 9, 2013
A: Mildly Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Most Light, White Head Ring, Decent Lacing
S: Bittering Hop, Earthy, Mild Onions
T: Grainy, Bittering Hops, Onions
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Drying, Mildly Bitter
Overall, it doesn’t make any sense because it has the qualities of a New Zealand hop for a califoronia beer week. The flavor profile just doesn’t agree with me personally.
