Smells like a wheaty Red. Looks dark as fuck. Oh Mother Russia! I like it. Slightly tangy start with a palate covering bitter. Going to a tasting of theirs later this month. Stoked IrishBoy (4199) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose light toffee, rye bread, and some citrus and light pine with a toasty/roasty background note. Clear rust amber with a medium, lightly lacing, pale tan head. Flavor is bitter, resin, and a dark fruit note. baraciisch (3232) - California, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Reddish brown in color... Aroma of caramel malts blended with citrus hops... Flavor is toffee, citrus hop backbone but gives way to spicy hops on the palate... Solid

Beautiful crystal clear, deep copper color with a light taupe head. The head has excellent retention atop this stunning and inviting beer. The aromas are clean and of Christmas pull candy and competing grass and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy, wet, slick, with a little carbonation and hop burn just before the finish. A bit of biscuit and toffee up front, leading into a touch of tart cherry, and finishes grassy with grapefruit bitterness, not necessarily flavor. This is an enjoyable beer. (bottle from comrade bhensonb Благода& Билла!) Pours a clear dark crimson color with a medium light tan head and significant lacing. Aroma consists of a perfectly matched combo of hops and malt, with scents of grapefruit, orange, pine, peanut brittle, and cinnamon and sugar-coated doughnuts. Flavor also holds cinnamon (must be the Chinook speaking), caramel, pine, and iced tea. Tangerine makes an appearance with further warming and only accentuates the existing complexity on offer. The beer finishes with a pleasant bitterness that’s coupled with the spicy and slightly bready rye. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is very smooth, save for a tiny tingle of carb this could’ve been mistaken for a cask serving. Overall this is a quality imperial red, and is one of, if not the, best example I’ve ever tried. Certainly this beer is fit for any member of the proletariat. Thanks again Bill!

Bottle. Pours a dark amber reddish color with an off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney caramel aroma. Fruity malty earthy piney hoppy caramel flavor with hints of licorice. Has a fruity malty earthy hoppy bitter caramel finish. Kroney (255) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 8, 2013
pours dark reddish-Brown, with a tiny light tan head. aroma is balanced with nice sweetness coming from the malt and some berries. hops are well disguised, until the first sip... citrus and resin hop bitterness dominate the middle of each sip, with the beginning being ask sweetness, and the finish almost like a rye ipa. very drinkable, and well brewed. great beer. Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop, toasted rye and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

22 oz ( from the local) pours dark copper with little head and lacing. Smells of strawberries, toffee, floral, and grainy. One solid red ale for those who enjoy hops and a little bitterness. The flavor is sweet and bitter together with a nice malty bready taste. Very drinkable well rounded, balanced and hits the red imperial style perfectly. Really enjoyed this hopped up red. Not typically fond of the style but this one is assertive and flavorful. Beautiful glowing burnt tangerine core with crimson, ruby, and scarlet edges. Caramel, toffee, and even some molasses accompanied by bitter grapefruit rind, orange peel, and lemon zest. Nicely balanced...bright...clean. Surprised by the ABV. Dangerous!
