Bottle. Pours a dark amber reddish color with an off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney caramel aroma. Fruity malty earthy piney hoppy caramel flavor with hints of licorice. Has a fruity malty earthy hoppy bitter caramel finish. mcberko (19869) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 30, 2016
22 oz. bottle, pours a murky cloudy dark orange brown with a medium white head. Nose brings out earthy caramel malts and resinous hops - smells rather old. Flavour confirms this suspicion, with old resinous hops and caramel malts. Thanks a lot for this old beer, Sun Devil Liquors in Mesa, AZ - shameful to sell something this old, especially without a bottle date. Lame. jtclockwork (17654) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Bottle. Pours reddish amber with off white head. Nose and taste of sweet caramel, pine, grapefruit rind and citrus hops. Medium body. Dryish resin/sap finish. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 10, 2015
On tap @ Knee Deep. Copper in color with an off-white head. The nose is quite caramel and brown sugar forward. Decently hoppy with lots of pine and citrus peel. Kind of grassy, too. The flavor is intensely sweet. Big time sugar, caramel, and fruits. Some bitter grass and pine. Moderate citrus qualities. While hoppy, it’s not quite enough to overcome the massive sugar content. bhensonb (15973) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours clear dark ruddy copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is quite pine/citrus over firmly roasted malt. Full bodied. It’s very resin/citrus hoppy. Almost burningly so. The malt is typical "red" roast, and it’s strong enough to stand up to the huge hop bill. This ale screams NW. Brilliant.

Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

This beer pours a clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, roasted malt and caramel. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good all around. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Had this one before they started dating their bottles. Shoulda known better. Had obviously been out for longer than I prefer. Nice big caramel maltyness, medium bodied and a touch sticky. Faded hop aroma and flavor though the bitterness is still there. They’ve kinda turned into douches since being called out for not dating (there was session IPAs on display at Total Wine 5 minutes from the brewery, and when they were told their response was not only dismissive but downright rude) so pretty much the only one I buy these days is super fresh Simtra." alexsdad06 (11228) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 11, 2013
22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have some caramel, toasted rye bread, some fruits and a touch of the alcohol. Decent enough, these guys do some good beers if you get them fresh.
