I like it. I don’t get the hate I’m seeing for it. Aroma is a bit muted, but the proper Rye, sweet wheat, and citrus notes are there. The taste is extremely smooth. Sweet rye, biscuity malt, citrus... classic farmhouse notes. FInish is slightly bitter, but mostly just sweet rye and citrus. This beer hides the ABV really well too. It’s smooth, balanced, and damn good. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - APR 28, 2012
Gold pour with little head and lace. Rye malt aroma with a light citrus aroma. Vanilla first with a light maltiness followed by some bitter. Smooth carbonation. A beer that suprised me. Suttree (6382) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 29, 2012
Orange, almost clear, with a loose white head. Smells nice - rye toast and a little bit of funk. Flavor is rye, some caramel, some woody notes. Fairly simple, but I liked it. Anova167 (371) - Manhattan Beach, California, USA - MAY 26, 2012
I guess I like this a bit more than most on here. Great looking beer. Clear orange with a white head that looks like foamed milk on a cappuccino. The aroma is lacking a bit of belgian character for the style, maybe a touch of pineapple. Flavor is fairly light with a bit of malty sweetness balanced by a touch of black pepper. Pretty dry finish with a touch of sweetness. Ferris (15235) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 19, 2014
Bottle - Leather, feet, dark malts and rye spice. Cloudy brown with a thin whitish head. Tastes much like it smells with a bit of grass. The rye makes this pretty cool, I like this.

On tap at Monks Kettle. Pours black with a rich tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a molasses and anise flavor with a rye bread finish. SpringsLicker (3636) - Tennessee, USA - APR 29, 2012
Mostly clear orange with a thin whit head.
Some malt, some citrus in the aroma, not much here really.
Light sweetness at the start, some bitterness in the finish.
Not very complex, but no faults either. Cybercat (5828) - Georgia, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Aroma is yeasty and a little fruity, not strong but still inviting. It pours a nice clear amber with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent pale golden head that leaves a little lacing. Flavor is definitely better than the aroma - not quite full-bodied, but enjoyable, malty, fruity (apple plus a little pear) and yeasty, just a tad sweet and just a tad hoppy. Smooth texture has plenty of fizz and firm body. No crisis here - just a good sippin’ brew. TheBeerGod (6216) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Bottle. Amber with a tall, foamy white head. Aroma is peppery spices, earthy hops, grassy notes, dusty yeast, dried fruit and malt notes. Taste is spicy and peppery with soft grains, malt, earthy hops, woody notes, grass, dusty yeast, straw and soft fruitiness. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more spicy hops, peppery notes, flowers, dried fruit, yeast, soft grains, malt and earthy notes. Arayaga2 (2197) - portland, Oregon, USA - APR 2, 2012
Light gold and hazy with a thin white head. Aroma is honey, lemon, and peppery hops. Taste is light biscuit with sweetness and slight sourness with a bit of hop bitterness. $5/22oz
