A 0.5L bottle shared at One Pint Pub. Pale brown head. Dark reddish brown colour. Mild malty nose. Not very sweet. Slightly coffeish malty taste. Papsoe (25055) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 6, 2009
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear orangey brown with an off-white head. Aroma of pumpernickel and lightly burned malt. Medium body with hard roasted malts and some licorice notes. Dry, malty bitter finish. A very unusual and different Dunkel, more of a Stout really. 281108 yespr (48094) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2008
50 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a fully gone head. Smooth roasted malt to breadish aroma. Medium sweet, light liqourice and roasted malt. Smooth and breadish into the finish. Gives away and mild acidic roastedness and mild bitterness into the far finish. Nice one. FatPhil (17151) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 30, 2008
500ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Oktoberfest 2008) MiP (15981) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 9, 2008
Rich nutty aroma. Some hops too. Big malty body. Decent fruity esters too. No wow factor, but supremely drinkable.
Bottle, 5.2%. Roasted aroma, a little soy. Clear dark brown colour. Woody flavour, roasted, some coffee with cream. Quite nice.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a medium brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, and alcohol. The finish is medium bitter with a note of caramel lingering. cgarvieuk (26082) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 22, 2008
Bottle at home... deep red brown ... sweet caramel fruity malts ... bit over fizzy ... sweet yeasty malts ... little caramel .. tasty and well rounded if plain ... maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2008
Bottled - Criterion Leicester. A dark brown coloured beer with a red hue and a whitish blanket of a head and decent lacing. The aroma has chocolate and bready malts with hints of fruit and licquorice. The taste is big, malty and chewy. Brown bread and more roast than expected. Maybe a bit too heavy in the mouth but it’s fine. Finn (8256) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 22, 2008
Vom Fass at the brewery tap 27 Jun 07. Dark brown colored. A small creamy head - lasting for a few minutes. Some malt in the aroma. Otherwise quite anonymous with some traces of caramel. Ernest (7861) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 21, 2008
Bottle (thanks Jonas!), Munich (BB Feb 08).
Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is medium brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted/roasted grain, caramel, chocolate, nuts), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
A fantastic example of the style...vibrant, rich malt character that still allows the hops to show through a bit. Excellent.
