Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is earth, malts, rather yeast and also has some mild mouldy hints. Flavour is very citrusy and then it has quite much the same notes as in the aroma.
Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown, minimal head. Roasty metallic nose. Medium sweet and lightly toasty with rounded mouthfeel. Finishes with metal and blood. A bit too much surface and too little content, more in line with American brewpubs than Franconian. Beerhunter111 (23281) - Beerland, GERMANY - NOV 2, 2017
50cl bottle. A clear dark amber beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of mild caramelish malt, nuts, spicy hops. Taste of caramelish, nuts, some red fruits, spicy hops, okay! Koelschtrinker (22084) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 18, 2011
Malzig herber, etwas erdiger Antrunk, bodenständig. Recht würzig, was einzig auf das Malz abzielt. Gelungen, sehr süffig, der Hopfen ist hintergründig präsent. Gut! 9/11/11/10//11

Golden-brown. Hoppy liquid bread aroma. Toasty and complex with lemony hops....you’d think those wouldn’t work together but they did here. Tasty example. FatPhil (17334) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 1, 2015

Rich caramelly malty aroma, some black tea, hint of mushrooms. Reddish, tight head. Sweetish palate, but crisp carbonation keeps it light. Finish pleasantly nut-papery and gently dry and bitter. Goes down very easily.
Gravity @ Knoblach , Schammelsdorf. Pours amber brown with a small white head. Grains, caramel, toffee and bready malts. Soft and really chewy. Smooth with a bitter fiinish. Bravo! MiP (16055) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 5, 2009
