Draught at The Archerfield Walled Garden Brewery, Dirleton, E.Lothian. Sold as a Belgian Ale. Hazy amber with white head. Quite a yeasty beer, pear drops and pretty nasal in character. Esters, malty. Very pleasant.

3.3
Scopey (16528) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours lightly hazy golden - amber with a decent white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, cereal, bread, brioche, madeleines, pepper, ginger and grass. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, bready, sponge cake, cereal, fairly bitter, grassy, mint, earth, hint of pear-apple esters and spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A pretty interesting golden ale with Belgian accents. Decent enough.

3.4
Heidbummer (1035) - SCOTLAND - MAR 5, 2017
Pint at Teuchters. Pours clear amber, lasting white head, soft carbonation. Citrus and caramel aroma, some yeast. It tastes like an spa more than blond ale, with even a Belgian edge to it. Citrusy, refreshing and bitter. Good.

A light sweet malt note at the back. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - the pick of this visit to the Haymarket.
