Gurthnar's rating

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20
Gurthnar (6293) - Bratislava, - OCT 13, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2012 Tap at KC Dunaj. Hazy darker copper colour. Quickly disappearing head. Aroma caramel and coffee, but overall a bit mild. No hops, not in aroma nor in taste. Taste medium caramel sweet, light roasty, coffee. Cappuccino. Not bad, but the brewery got much better beers. I think it should be served only lightly chilled. Overall uninteresting and dull one.

Retried a few days later at Hostinec Richtár Jakub, same result.

Bottle. Clear amber/copper beer with a small offwhite head. Malty hazelnut aroma, earthy, toffee, some caramel. Sweet malty flavor, hazelnuts, caramel, vanilla, raisins, toffee notes. Sweetish and not very complex.

derBreslauer (142) - Wroclaw, POLAND - DEC 7, 2013
Nice mahogany, clear body. Head is minimal. Sweet aroma, black forest fruits with some caramel notes. Malty beginning, a little bit dry. Finish is fruity and ester. Very delicate bitterness. Nice carbonation.

Amber colour, small head. Aroma of orange, plums, caramel. Taste is light sweet. Light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Not bad

Poured medium reddish brown with a frothy off white head. Aroma of caramel malt and not much else. Overly sweet flavour of the malt. Sticky sweet mouthfeel in the finish.

TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 28, 2012
Pet Bottle. Pours Brown with an off-white head. Lots of caramel sweetness with just a touch of sourness. Brett or possibly this bottle had had it’s day. Either way, the beer was drinkable without being memorable. The ’Scottish Ale’ tag makes me smile. Being from Scotland and having drunk an enormous ammount of Ale, it’s not until I come to the Czech Republic that I drink something that Ratebeer classifies as such.

mithe (1982) - Opava & Brno, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 21, 2012
(draught 0,3l @ Netopýr (Brno)) Very light malty aroma. Cloudy light brown color. Huge white head. Medium sweet. Sticky, soft, medium-full body.

Cuso (8950) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - OCT 19, 2012
Tap at Hostinec Richtar Jakub. Hazy brown color with small white head. Malty aroma. Taste of caramel, coffee, vodka. Almost no bitterness.

omikr0n (974) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - AUG 28, 2012
Plastic bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden to brown color with quickly disappearing head. Aroma is hops, bread, caramel, yeast. Taste is malty, earthy, honey and ends with some hops. Nice balance between sweetness and bitterness.
