Kokanee is a 5.0 percent alcohol (by volume) lager that is smooth, clean and lightly hopped. It is brewed with mountain stream fed water and a blend of 3 malts and features a unique combination of superior Western-grown North American hops. Brewed in the Kootenay Mountains of British Columbia by the Columbia Brewing Company, Kokanee is British Columbia's most popular beer over the last 10 years. Since its introduction to the Northwest U.S. in the summer of 1994, many people have discovered and enjoyed Kokanee's cool, crisp, glacier fresh taste.

Goes down easy. No notable characteristics, just an average beer. ..........

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2004 This is a very refreshing beer. Surprisingly balanced with a thick, cereal nose on it, followed by a clean smooth body that is medium-light. I must say this is a great beer to drink in large quantities. Has a honey taste that I dont mind, though i usually hate honey beers.

A horrible excuse for a beer. I had 4 left over from a party, and I could barely finish one. In all honesty, I wanted to vomit. No redeeming qualities.

A mid echelon american standard. Nothing spectacular but ne faults either.

One hell of a beer all around. A friend gave me a bottle at a party the other night and I know that this beer will be on my shoping list for the next big party!

Not bad, I gave it a little lower mark because it gave me one hell of a headace the next day.

Not bad. It’s better than American cheap beer, but it’s still cheap beer, only expensive, because it’s imported.

HH (166) - Everett, Washington, USA - JUN 12, 2002
Had several of these the other day, first ones in years. Well carbed. Goes down smooth. Nothing objectionable here. Guess thats why I had all 6.

weusebio (69) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 9, 2002
Nothing remarkable about this beer. It goes down easy, but so do cheaper domestics. Good way to get drunk in Canada where it’s cheaper.

Ernest (7717) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2002
Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal), only trace hops (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Sweet, virtually no aroma or flavor, fizzy.
