Sample at beer day 2011.
Werry nice sour ale.
The aroma is sour’ish, with notes of malt, vinegar, berries, yeast and dried fruit.
The taste is also sour’ish with notes of vinegar, berries, yeast, dried fruits and malt.
A fairly complex beer, but still highly drinkable I LOVE it. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - SEP 18, 2011
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a brown-orange color with a large tan head. The aroma is somewhat odd, as I have come to expect from the Kolding sours I have tried. I get some toffee and chocolate notes, as well as some nuttyness and some dark fruit - cherries and cranberries. There is also a strong Pepsi aroma to the beer but I have no idea where that is coming from.
The flavor is more of the same. I get some tart cranberry notes as well as some chocolate and dry cocoa powder. The nuttyness from the aroma is also present in the flavor. The tartness is not that strong yet, probably because the beer is this year’s vintage.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAY 25, 2012
330. Thanks, René! Pours a murky dark brown with a dense and creamy tan mousse. Actually, it geysers all that at first, then it pours it. Good thing my man knows his way around a roll of duct tape. Lot of sugar and a lot of yeast in this one. A highly active ferment. Dry winter berry nose, showing a nice toasty black bread under that but then with a very clean and crisp cranberry note balancing. Really a cool combination and no doubt worth playing with some more batches. Fizzy rich body; even after the geyser there’s nothing but life left in this beer. Caramel, brown sugar, cranberries, maybe a bit of oak in the mid palate. Bright and dry berry finish. chrisv10 (18518) - DENMARK - SEP 4, 2011

33cl, with handwritten label ’Grand Cru 2011’, no mention of ABV, recently retired exclusive Danish brew, with cranberries, thx to thewolf!, very complex brew, alcoholic/vinous and slightly woody/sweet, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, good head, good brew Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque brown with a lively beige head that dissipates quickly. Dry and lightly vinous aroma, slightly tart. Medium body with a very lively carbonation, a distinct vinous tartness, some red berries and a little yeast. The finish is dry and tart. Somewhat rustic but fairly interesting. 280712
