Tap (Kaschk, Berlin)androman (3000) - Maarssen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 10, 2016
Hazy mahogany, small brief tan head. Dodgy solventy wood and glue aroma, some pungent vegetal and spicy aspects. Taste less weird, sweet, malty, raisins, some dates later. Finish raisiny. Seems like a barrel-ruined stout to me.
On tap at Nederlandse Bieren Festival Delft 2016.
Nose is konyak.
Body is clear deep brown, head is medium, beige, creamy, average lasting, excellent lacing.
Aroma is molasses, herbs, milk chocolate.
Medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, medium fruity sour.
Finish is medium lasting chocolate, roasty medium bitter.
Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
A bit heavy dessert beer, a bit sour for me, not bad though. Marduk (8832) - Reval, ESTONIA - JUN 3, 2016
Tap (Kaschk, Berlin). Slightly hazy brown color. Small size, beige-yellow head, stays. Alcohol, raisins, cognac, sweet and caramel in aroma. Alcohol, sweet, cake, chocolate and cognac in taste. Thin. And alcoholic. Drinkable, but thin. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 26, 2016
Draft @ Kompaan. Pours a dark brown, clear beer with a small tanned head on top. Aroma has sweet roasty notes, dark fruits, plums and vigs with hints of sweet alcohol. The cognac shines trough here. Flavor has a big sweet fruity start with the ripe fruits and sweet yeast taking over. It finishes strong with the booze of the cognac overpowering the mellow flavors of the base beer, while remaining in harmony. Really interesting to see a softer beer on a nice barrel and it worked out well. mariuspoenari (3202) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 17, 2016
Sampled at Lentebierfestiv 2016 in The Hague. Murky dark-ruby with a thin tan head. Smells of macerated fruit (mostly cherries and grapes), barrel, nuts. Tastes like cognac, sherry, cherries, cocoa, coke, grapes, macerated fruit. Feels a bit light-bodied and has an out-of-place fresh hop bitterness, but other than that not a bad beer.

Tap at the Lentebier Festival, Grote Markt, Den Haag, 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy broken white head. The aroma is alcohol, cognac. The flavour is moderate sweet with a big alcohol bitter, light smoky malt, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A real heart warming beer but dominated by the alcohol. pours clear mahogany with a fine off-white head. aroma of raisin, sweet cognac, dark fruits, sweet malts, vanille. Taste likewise, also some low nail-polish remover, some cognac, however fairly thin, watery mouthfeel, flat, thin body, no don’t like this so much, way to thin...
The beer has a typical Porter/stout look. The color is a beautiful ruby red with some Amber tones. It is a little lighter than most stouts. The beer has a nice little cloudiness. A nice almond colored layer of soft foam forms on top of the beer. After a while, a creamy drape still remains. The taste is delicious. It has a strong cognac aroma, which gives a kind of sweet alcohol aroma. I also smell some woody oaky aromas, of the barrels used to age the beer. I also smell some fresh hoppy fruit tones, which give the beer a nice sweet aroma. The roasty porter aroma is still present, but more in the distance than in most porters. This gives this beer something unique. The roasted barley aromas are accompanied by some dark coffee, caramel and chocolate aromas. The taste of the beer is slightly better than the smell. There is a sour dry flavor of very strong dark red wine. This flavor has a strong oaky and woody touch to it. This gives a whole new dimension to beer. The spareness of the beer flow over in a strong stout bitterness. This is filled with roasted barley, coffee, chocolate and caramel and is delicious. The bitterness finishes in a nice and sweet chocolate aroma. The beer is lovely, but the cherry flavor could have been a little bit milder. Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - APR 10, 2016
Bierfestival Groningen. Geruch Cognac, süß, malzig. Start süß, Apfel. Mitte malzsüß, Faßaromen, Apfel, Holz. Abgang bittermalzig, holzig, trocken. sehr gut. Zlotta (4245) - Hagen, GERMANY - APR 9, 2016
Sampled from tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2016. Clear, dark reddish brown with a tan head. Sweetish, fruity-boozy aroma of cognac, raisins and vanilla. Sweetish-malty, boozy and slightly fruity taste of caramel, vanilla, lots of cognac and some licorice, followed by a long, boozy and slightly warming finish. Thin to medium body, slightly watery mouthfeel, flat. Okay, way too boozy, lacks a decent body.
