Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Pours a clear yet strong golden yellow with a 1 finger head that leaves a medium lacing. Aroma is a resin and vanilla malt with hints of nuts and cereal. Taste is a malt with a nutty but bready taste and leaves the palate with a moist and lightly carbonated feel. This isnt a bad beer and is refreshing for a summer day but also could be a lot better and fuller.

355ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Fruity aroma. Some pine and a hint of citrus. Finish sickly sweet and a bit thin. Not the greatest.

355 ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty during Summers American Food Festival promotion.

Translucent golden yellow colour; Razor-thin head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Minimal sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of light Ale malt, with grapefruit, passion fruits, light jackfruits, floral, honey, molasses, light lemon and faint grass; Near zero sweet taste of light malt, with faint grapefruit, light jackfruit, very light passion fruits, molasses notes, lemon notes and notes of bitter hops; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is thin Golden Ale - maltyness is barely mentionable, almost as bland and tasteless as the Anchor Summer Beer I just had this afternoon. No sweetness, no yeast, near zero hops sums it up. Boooooring Hoppiness is neat citrus, passion fruits, jackfruits and floral in nose, barely detectable citrus and tropical fruits in taste. Almost no bitterness, just watery finish; Slightly dry after taste. Very easy to mouth.

Comments: This could easily be just as underwhelming as the Longboard Island Lager. As a Golden Ale, its only redeeming value being the rather neat fruity aroma. Thats it, the rest is as empty as a black hole. Near the bottom of the pile. Forgettable.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Fruity hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, tangerine, pineapple and mango, backed by a delicately biscuity malty background. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Dry and slightly biscuity cara-malty base with a fresh and fruity, slightly exotic hops; dry, bitter and slightly sweet malty finish. Enjoyed it a lot. 07.X.14

Bottle in hotel in Kumamoto. Pours a clear golden with a white head and some lacing. Light dryness with aromas of hay and grassy hops but with mellow notes of sprucy hops too (which saves it a little bit). Medium to light bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Brewed 2014-03-26. Best before 2015-05-01. It poured a pale golden colour with a minimal head. Aroma is fresh and hoppy. Lots of tropical fruits and some malty notes. Flavour is smooth and mild. Some hops and tropical fruits. Hints of grass. A bit watery. Short aftertaste. Overall a nice beer.

Tap. Press golden with off white head. Taste and aroma are your basic, mediocre golden ale. Little hops, little malts. Eh.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2014 really like an everymans session ipa - light, unoffensive, nicely flavorful, not bitter, very refreshing - aroma has some dry citrus, pine, and melon hops - flavor a bit grainy and bran-like but has crisp malt, muted melon, citrus, dry pine hop flavors - very mild overall with some solid hop flavors and low bitterness, just a bit of cloying graininess and sweetness take it down a notch
