[At GABF 2004] A pitch black beer with a lasting beutiful brown head. The aroma is very lighlty roasted - I’m a bit disappointed in the lightness of the aroma. The flavor is sweet with hints of coffee, and a nice roasted end. The mouthfeel is very smooth. Travlr (26425) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Draft at Koko Marina. Opaque brown color, beige head. Coffee grounds and cocoa aroma. Taste has bittersweet dark chocolate and coffee. Tasty. fiulijn (21511) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 23, 2013
Draught at Kona Brewing Company - KoKo Marina Pub, 6.3% ABVOakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 27, 2008
Dark brown color, with red shades, and creamy beige head. It had some aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dust. Dry mouthfeel, with strong flavor of roasted malt and some coffee, no chocolate; the bitterness seems to come from the roastiness.
More Stout than Porter, fairly brewed anyway.
Near black colour. Fresh black malt nose is decadent, with rich fruits. The palate is again rich in black malts with some fruitiness. Quality brew. Ratman197 (15624) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Poured a clear dark brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of carmel, toffee and light cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, carmel, toffee and light tobacco with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, smooth fruity chocolate malt with light coconut and coffee grind. In mouth, a nice smooth bitter chocolate with good coffee notes, light and smooth. On tap at Koko location. hopdog (13249) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 10, 2007
On tap at the Kona Brew Pub on Oahu. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, vey light coffee and light vanilla cream. Tastes of roastiness, coffee, and chocolate. Lacing left on the glass. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 21, 2014
"very roasted, almost like a dry stout. unfortunately we had this as a taster right before Pipeline (w/Kona coffee)...that one is so much richer that this one seemed boring in comparison. solid effort, though, if it were to stand on it’s own."

Draught at the Kona Brewing Co, Hawaii Kai, HI.
Dark reddish brown color with a small tan head.
Roasted malt, sweetness, chocolate and mild hops in the aroma.
