COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Tap at Old Chicago. Pretty bland I thought. SOme floral hops, slightly bitter, malty balance detracts from the hops.

Pours from bottle a golden /straw color with white head. Somewhat hazy. Nose is a bit muted but has floral/citrus. Taste is a basic IPA - citrus / grapefruit, with some hoppy finish. This is good - nothing fancy, but a solid, quintessential IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2017 The aroma is malty and very fruity, with notes of grass, citrus, tropical fruits and some hints of spices. The taste is light sweet with notes of tropical fruits and citrus, and ends refreshingly bitter with grass and spices. The finish is dry and bitter and above all very refreshing.

Bottle, 0.355l. Clear copper pour with little to no head. Slight lacing. Different then expected on the nose, good hoppiness, strong herbal character with some candy-like notes. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. Light mouthfeel, slightly fizzy palate. Refreshing. Bittersweet taste, not too aggressive, personally I’d prefer stronger hop bitterness. Aroma is quite pleasant, similar to nose it has strong herbal touch to it. Some caramel and toffee notes in the background. Fruity citrus hops paired with that candy presence. Drying mouthfeel, medium lasting finish, mildly bitter. Overall, lightweight IPA. Smooth, refreshing and crisp. Personally, I’d prefer stronger hop presence but as it is it’s still quite decent thirst quencher. Good one.

Bottle, 0,355l. Clear golden color with large frothy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of melon, mild tropical fruit, grass, flowers and biscuit malt. Taste starts light sweet grainy, follows slightly sour grassy and herbal, mouthfeel is mild spicy, while finish is heavy bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation. Sharp hoppy IPA...

I think this is one of the better kona brews, second to longboard to me. Not too hoppy.

Lightly citrusy hop aroma with hints of pine. Rather laid back in both hop and malt departments. Somewhat thin. Has a bitter medium length fade that is not bolstered properly by the malt. Hop water. Not very good.
