COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Bottle courtesy of Kona Brewing. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is a nice burst of tropical fruit, guava, and citrus with some light malt behind it. Flavor is similar with a burst of tropical fruit, guava, kumquats, and citrus in the flavor package as well. Finishes with some tropical fruit-- medium to light in body and a nice IPA overall.

From a 12 oz bottle. Good, typical appearance. Low hop and high malt/hop balance in the aroma but the flavor is hop dominated. Nonetheless, bready malts come out again in the aftertaste. Moderately bitter.

Bottle on sale from Albert Heijn in Leerdam, Netherlands. The beer is deep orange colored and has a large and sticky white head, with oke carbonation. The aroma is malty and very fruity, with notes of grass, citrus, tropical fruits and some hints of spices. The taste is light sweet with notes of tropical fruits and citrus, and ends refreshingly bitter with grass and spices. The finish is dry and bitter and above all very refreshing.

A more than decent and enjoyable beer. A rather typical dry hopped India Pale Ale.

Bottle @ home. Bought at the local supermarket. Nice golden yellow colour with a medium sized white head. Good carbonation. For an IPA it lacks the hoppy taste. Overall its a pretty middle of the road and boring IPA. There are so many better local IPAs in Holland so I dont really understand why a big supermarket imports these from US/Hawaii.

MarkoNm (2588) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - FEB 7, 2017
Slightly hazy golden color, topped with a medium sized white foamy head, not really lasting. Pleasant fruity nose, citruses with some piney background and a bit of biscuity malt. Moderately bitter with some malty sweetness lingering in the back, Aftertaste generously bittery, slightly herbal. Lighter body. A proper modern IPA. Very drinkable.
