A pretty good beer... went well with the spicy food I ate it with. Spicy and hoppy... with some citrus, but not too much. Great hop presence and well balanced.
12 oz. bottle. jrob21 (3809) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 31, 2008
Tasted at EABF. Poured a clear copper color with a decent off white head. Hop profile reminded me a lot of DFH’s 60 minute IPA which is a good thing. Nice hop aromas and flavors. Some grass and grapefruit and resin in there. Mutualaid (142) - Texas, USA - MAY 30, 2008
Pours light copper with a rather weak, white head. Faint aromas of amber malt and piney hope bouquet. Crisp, hop forward yet well balanced flavor. Medium body and a somewhat yeasty finish. Pretty standard Pale Ale but nothing wrong with that. mmmbeer (1429) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 30, 2008
12 oz. bottle poured into shaker- poured 20% cloudy tan orange, little if any carbonation, white ring around the glass with a few frog eyes. Aroma of pine, tangerines, and floral. Hits the mouth with a medium body, some sweetness at the start, hops come in the middle and stay for the finish that is slightly acidic. Pretty good for a get together. raiderfost (171) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 29, 2008
Just not great at all. Very drinkable but nothing to right home about.I will probably try the other styles kona has.

Nice copper color with decent white head. Hoppy bouquets of pine and light citrus peel off into the nose, and the taste yields a nice simple, but well balanced mix of bittering herby flavors contrasted with more powerful sugary and toasted malt notes. Not a bad brew, and good for a bbq. SSSteve (4006) - - MAY 25, 2008
slightly hazy orange under a small creamy white head. hoppy orange aroma. flavor of hops(orange, lemon) with a nice helping of malts for balance. pretty standard stuff but its solid. PhillyBeer2112 (2895) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - MAY 23, 2008
Pretty standard pale ale yet really pleasant and refreshing when really fresh, as my sixer is. Pours a semi-hazy copper color, full creamy head. Moderately hoppy aroma with a lemony citrus and herbal nose, with a background of caramelized malts. Flavor is balanced to a T. Full rounded malts, crisp herbal hops, semi-dry finish. Enjoyable sessionish pale ale and a neutral partner to a wide variety of foods. 502Che (999) - @, CAMBODIA - MAY 19, 2008
12 oz. bottle into pint glass. Amber, clear, low carbonated pour with average white head that fades pretty quickly. Hops and some malt on the aroma, sweet and sour citrus hops. Flavor: strange hoppyness, mellow but almost peppery, strangely off-balanced. Palate: average, medium to light bodied, with lightly carbonation but a slight tingling.. Overall: I need to re-rate this because I liked it a lot last night, when I had it for the first time; it just tastes strange now (could be the whiskey I had before the beer affecting it). Draft at GOBF ’08. Pours a clear golden color with a slight reddish tint. A foamy, off-white head sticks around for a while, leaving some spotty lacing behind. The nose is dry, showing pale malts and cereal grains along with a moderate helping of mildly floral hops. Flavors basically follow suit, with the ever so slight emergence of some citrus character and a bit of toastiness. The palate is on the thin side of medium-bodied, with a clean, dry finish. Its a decent beer. Overall. pretty non-descript and boring, but very drinkable.
