Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Bottle. Clear brown with a light beige head. Shy aroma is more Reef Oil than Bounty but there is a hint of chocolate there too. Coconut tastes more real than it smelled and there's a little toasty edge to it. But there's little else to the malt (apart from bland sweetness) and a weedy bitterness makes the whole thing feel a bit thin. Not really my sort of thing.

A clean light brown color with a fluffy head of light tan foam. The aroma is inviting with a delightful coconut flesh. The taste is mostly caramel malt, very subtle roast, and more coconut. A bit thin, but enjoyable.

Aroma: roasty suntan lotion; Appearance: dark amber pour with creamy white head; Taste: tons of coconut, a little malt and roastiness; not like a traditional brown; Palate: medium-heavy body with long, cononut finish; Overall: good in small quantities; otherwise, coconut is overwhelming.

Not the best Brown I’ve had but pretty tasty. Hint of cocoa in the aftertaste.

Grumbo (4957) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2018
Bottle at Harrild & Sons, London. Pours mid to dark brown with a small off-white to beige head. Aroma is dominated by the most authentic coconut aroma I've had from a beer, with some light toasting, chocolate and nut in the background. Moderate sweetness and bitterness, with a hint of coconut milk sour. Towards medium body, slight oily and rather watery texture, average carbonation. If coconut beers had there own category this would be a candidate for top spot!

This is my go to Coconut ale. It is very balanced and a great overall drinker. First had this on the islands and was glad to see it make it to the mainland.
