Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

This beer was a surprise.. Perfect infusion of coconut in this brown. The richness of the coconut really compliments what could be a good stand alone brown. Nice work.

Bottle from Beer Zoo. Clear brown body with a thin off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth and nuts. Flavour of brown sugar and tea. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. I didnt get much coconut.

Pours clear dark nutmeg brown with a medium beige head, moderate retention. Aromas of toast, caramel, coconut, and biscuit. Medium light body, velvety, decent carbonation. Mildly sweet, mildly bitter finish with a sense of lingering toasted coconut. Darker and more interesting that many browns.

Clear slightly redish hued brown with gray-white head. Aroma is sweet roasted coconut, light caramel and brown bread. Taste is initially sweet with rich roasted coconut but then ends abruptly in a dry and astringent short bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and short dry aftertaste.

My favorite beer so there is very little room for improvement. I love the toasted coconut and hint of chocolate. Comparable to DuClaws Dirty Little Freak.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear cola colored brew with tan head. Aroma of toasted grain, cocoa and coconut. Taste is toasted malt and cocoa up front transitioning to a slightly weak finish with modest coconut notes at the end. Lighter palate and fairly dry. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is roasted malts, some tin. Taste is dry roasted malts, slightly spicy / tangy with a mild bitter finish. Not getting any coconut or caramel (as advertised). This was underwhelming for a Brown Ale, which is pretty bad.

Bottle from JSG Wine Merchants, Chesterton, Cambridge. Mid- to dark brown, quite translucent with a thin film of off-white head. Light aroma of chocolate and coconut. Pleasant but fails to stamp out any special character. The taste is more promising with sweet cononut, some Nutella, and drinking chocolate with some bitter hop in the finish. Nicely carbonated, thin to medium body. I really took to this although it took a few sips.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2017 Im a sucker for coconut and coconut beers. This one does it well. Plenty of flaked coconut flavor. Maybe a tad thin but otherwise a great beer if you like this style.
