COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

Solid amber. Aroma of sweet bread up front. Nice malty richness. Balance in bitterness does the job. Ok session beer.

Tap at Annies a wonderful burger joint in Kona. Amber pour unsurprisingly. Nose is caramel and malt. Tastes of malt, light caramel, some faint hop citrus, paper, and berry. Mild bodied. Smooth finish.

Draught at the Kona Brewing Co, Hawaii Kai, HI. Clear mahogany color with a small light tan head. Caramel sweetness, nougat, dark maltiness and sweetness in the aroma. The flavor is sweet caramel malt, some hops, chocolate and nougat. Quite nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Suitably red pour with a thin off-white head. Lots of caramel with some fruit and biscuit. Not my favorite Kona.

Red draft pour with a thin ring of white head. At Keoki's in Kauai. Malty earthy aroma. Taste is burnt flowers, some fruit, and malty. Pretty good for the style.

Basically your Irish-style red. Malty without much hop presence. Pretty simple hop dominated beer. Not bad,but not too great either.

Enjoyed on tap at Sensei Sushi in Honolulu, HI while enjoying my last sushi meal on the island :(. I didnt take tasting notes, but remember this being decent. Nothing that really stood out, nice malty notes with a crisp finish and I could have had more of these easily.
