Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

Basically your Irish-style red. Malty without much hop presence. Pretty simple hop dominated beer. Not bad,but not too great either.

Enjoyed on tap at Sensei Sushi in Honolulu, HI while enjoying my last sushi meal on the island :(. I didn’t take tasting notes, but remember this being decent. Nothing that really stood out, nice malty notes with a crisp finish and I could have had more of these easily.

This was a draft pour at the brewpub in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. Came in the glass a clear red with an off white head. Nose of caramel malts and some fruit. Medium in body. Smooth in the mouth. Flavor is malts with some spice. Finish is dry and lightly bitter. Nice amber.

On tap at Yard House Waikiki 201214. Great flavour in this beer. Super malty with biscuit, caramel and toffee flavours coming through. True to its name this beer pours copper red with a light tan head. While the aroma is moderate the flavour more than makes up for it.

Dull reddish-brown, thin head. Light aroma and palate balancing dry, tobaccoey hop notes with mild caramelly malts. Unexciting but balanced.
