On draft at Kona location in Oahu. When it comes to their reds, I’ll take the Cascadia any day. Although this really shouldn’t be in the same category - the hops were significantly less than in the Cascadia. This was more of a standard american amber with some tasty malts and a bitter hop character to clean up the profile. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - MAR 3, 2011
On tap at Duke’s in Honolulu, HI. Pours a clear, amber-red colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is caramel, some light florals, and a hint of grass. Flavor is similar. Caramel, a touch of chocolate, some florals, and a light grass. Finishes with a light-moderate bitterness and a light, balanced caramel that leaves a medium length aftertaste. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent red. Easy drinking with a light, malty sweetness and well balanced bitterness. Not bad. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 27, 2011
The nose sorta bland with a light macro sulphur to it. Roasty, kinda English flavor to it with a well hopped then caramelly finish. Not bad especially with a burger Daytonbeer (730) - Ohio, USA - DEC 11, 2010
This one was alittle disappointing. On tap at Kona Brew Pub, Hi. Pours a very nice reddish copper with nice lacing. Aroma was a blend of floral hops and malts. Taste is lighter than I expected. Well-balanced between the hops and malts. Alittle too warm and watery for my taste. Dogbrick (14344) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2010 Sample at the brewpub in Kailua. The beer pours a dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Caramel malt and citrus aroma. Light body with flavors of sweet malt and caramel along with mildly bitter hops and citrus. The finish is earthy and malty and does not linger long. Slightly above average overall.

Amber pour wth off white head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt. Caramel malt with a bit of a metallic funk. Thin and fizzy. Very drinkable. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 25, 2010
Draft at Marina Pub. Pours a beautiful brilliant clear glowing amber. Odd aroma, bit nutty, yeast, dry, something I can’t place. Lightly sweet, a bit odd, maybe old, lightly resiny hoppy, light caramel, longer lasting biscuit aftertaste, sweet toasted caramel, I wonder if it is something in the water out here that makes all these beers taste somewhat similar. Fairly dry, light sweetness, like a diet-soda. beernbourbon (1606) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - MAY 2, 2010
Tap at brewpub. Pour is clear red with a hint of white bubbles around the edges of the glass. Aroma is lightly malty with hints of pine hop. Not overly complex, but solid. Flavor is true to nose with light malt and a hint of hop. Easy drinkin’. strings (377) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 21, 2010
On tap at some Mexican restaurant near Kona. Started badly, finished better. Strangely much better with Mexican food, which made it start tasting like a rich fruity pale ale. jb (3457) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 13, 2010
At the brewpub, draft. Malty, thin body. Clear red. Nice looking. Average beer, with the malty notes in palate and nose.
