Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

I recently tried this beer on a trip to the APS/JPS conference on Kona. This is a decent lager. Not much head of course, but offering a little bit of hops and bitterness in the flavor. I find it interesting to try a Hawaiian beer, but it’s not quite enough to win me over coming from California...

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2009 Honeymoon : Maui Served with a Hamburger "Hawaiian Style" Thousand Island on top, Mayo on the bottom. Just wouldn’t be the same drinking it on the mainland.

ྫྷoz bottle, bottled 5/27/09) Small white head atop clear apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, honey, some spicy, bread, strawberry. Taste is medium sweet, biscuit/bread, orange, light spicy. Light body, somewhat watery, light crispness.

This beer pours gold to light copper and is clear with a quickly discipating head. There is a grainy pilsner in the aroma with low to no hops. Medium light in body, the flavor is malt forward with pilsner and 2row up front and a slight bitterness. It is fairly clean with some fruity esters not typical in a lager. There could be a little more bitterness to balance out the residual sweetness. Refreshing.

a spicy hopped tasted lager, 5.5% alcohol volume, pours yellow with a fizzy white head, not a bad beer. remember- there’s always worse! this is actually pretty good.

Bought a six pack form the grocery store. Looks bad, tastes like cheap beer.

Bottle. Light gold body with a short, rapidly diminishing white head. Light aroma of grain and bread, flowers and dead grass. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Finishing taste is slightly vegetative and caramel sweet. Too much sweet in this premium lager, though nowhere near cloying.

Had in bottles a while ago, lost rating notes. Typical lager appearance with some touch of hops in the nose, which was nice. Overall standard.

Beer pours yellow and fizzy with little head. The aroma is light citrus hops. The flavor is clean with a little sweetness and light hops. The palate is a nice fizzy. Overall an excellent version of the style, refreshing and drinkable.
