Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

Bottle from an Esselunga supermarket in Lucca. Pours clear and golden with a frothy white head. The aroma contains lots of malts, grain, hay and some citrus. It tastes medium sweet and ends light bitter. Watery texture and light body, but very, very refreshing.

Pour is cloudy gold straw with thin head. Aroma is a bit funky with some honey notes and some unfortunate cardboard and marmite notes. Flavour is slight sweet upfront with thin mid palate and minimal hop finish. Not the greatest beer from kona sadly.

Easy to drink, but thats not always a good thing. While I generally find Kona to have good beers relative to their size as a brewery, their flagship lager falls short in a big way. Enjoyed in a bottle.
