Growler from brown jug, black beer, decent almond colored head faded. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, coconut. Taste is coconut, chocolate, coffee. Palate is good, carbonation subdued. Nice balance between bitter and sweet! Pair with high surf warnings and sex wax. jjsint (2998) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2017
Bottle from JSG Wine Merchants, Chesterton, Cambridge. Purplish brown, translucent. Flat. The aroma is overwhelmingly of coffee, although there are some pleasant notes of pumpernickel with caraway in here as well. Sweet taste with roasted malt and, again lots and lots of coffee. Not that I’m complaining - it’s nicely balanced - but it may not be the most nuanced beer you’re likely to have. Some welcome balancing sourness around the edges of the finish, and there’s plenty of carbonation in the body so not as flat as it looks. Very well put together. ttutony (918) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 21, 2017
Dark brown with a chocolate and coffee aroma. Mid-full body. Lingering coffee flavors. Really delicious

Nice mild simple porter. light carb and light sweetness, its kinda milky on the backside which is nice. reminds me a bit more of a sweet stout than a regular porter, just not as creamy. was expecting more roast to come through but this wasnt the case. Still pretty nice overall. hauxe (709) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - JAN 8, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2017 Pours virtually black from the bottle and leaves a creamy, tan head. Aroma is used coffee grounds. Taste is mildly bitter with both coffee and dark chocolate notes. The overall combination left an odd peppery note in the mouth - as though I was eating a raw bell pepper on the side. Medium bodied. Was served to me a bit colder than I would like and thus a rerate candidate.
Rerated 05/17. Tasted plenty of coffee, less bell pepper. Overall score and impression unchanged. bp (922) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 1, 2017

355ml Flasche. Klar und schwarz mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Angenehme Röst- und Kaffeearomen. Leicht kohlensäurehaltig. Spritzig. Runder Abgang. Durchschnittlicher Körper. ATXTed512 (1) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 24, 2016 does not count
The beer pours like a porter and looks like a porter. However, it is infused with coffee, to me tastes like you have a porter beer, then you’re already a bit too drunk and pour in some Folger’s to the beer, and voila, it’s the Pipeline beer. Maybe it’s because i’m so used to porters, but the coffee taste to this beer doesn’t blend enough. Not a bad beer, but next time I’ll just get a porter.
