Pours a deep dark color with great lacing and a medium foamy tan head. Roasted nuts and coffee aroma. Great porter flavors with a nice dark coffe fish. Very enjoyable. glaze0101 (79) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2008
I had this on tap at Islands in San Diego. Pours dark with a small tan head. smells of smoke and coffee. It reminds me more of a milk stout than a coffee porter. Sweet flavour. Overall, fine. auderale (605) - Minot, North Dakota, USA - JAN 28, 2008
Dark brown colored pour with medium sized head. Roasted malts, nutty, and of course coffee aroma. Nice sweet, weak coffee flavor, a little watery, but not bad. This was nice. asedzie (824) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 25, 2008
Bottle. Pours deep brown with hints of ruby light coming through. Head is moderate and off-white. Rich, but not overwhelming coffee in the nose, along with doughy malt. Flavor is outstanding- full, bittersweet toasted malt. Palate is llively and a little light. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JAN 24, 2008

2008 – Great Hawaiian Beer Run
Aroma – Awesome Coffee and dark malts aroma.
Appearance – Dark Brown in color , nice head and clear.
Flavor – A great porter with terrific flavors this is going to be a Porter for the ages for a long time. Great flavors. The coffee was full and awesome.
Palate – Great Porter Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was the best beer on the Islands. Had flavor and flavor did I mention it had flavor. WOW KICK ASS BEER…
Definitely not bad, but I wish it had a little less coffe and was maybe a little less thin. I would honestly...rather just have a cup of coffee... User57106 (246) - - JAN 20, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2008 Draft at Joey’s Smokin’ BBQ in Manhattan Beach on 01/19/08. Dark brown, almost cola like appearance with small head and lots of bubbles clinging to glass sides. Notes of nuts and maybe even black licorice in aroma. Well carbonated in mouth. Flavor is roasted coffee bitterness with a citrus thing going on in background. Aftertaste is mostly clean with just a memory of bitter roasted character. Better than I expected. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 16, 2008
On-tap PP Carlsbad. This beer is definitely better than 85% of the other beers brewed with coffee. Pours dark brown with a moderate offwhite head. Smells of coffee and dark toasted malts. Tastes of black coffee. Not all that much sweetness to it. Sweet malt finish to it. Crisp and thin on the palate, good carbonation. riversideAK (6260) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 14, 2008
Aroma of light coffee. Poured black with a thin head. Flavor was like cold carbonated coffee. Not bad, but not my favorite. Too much coffee I thought, but it’s all good. mvcramer (243) - Lexington, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 14, 2008
A fair porter, but it pales in comparison to Kona’s competitor in this style brew - Maui’s Coconut Porter. Nice coffee-like appearance, but weak aroma - nothing like what I expected given Kona’s description. Pleasing mouthfeel and strong malty flavor.
