Pours almost solid dark brown. I needed a strong back light to get any penetration. Coffee aroma does come through very well. Heavy coffee flavor with almost no presence of alcoholic taste. Coats the mouth nicely and does have a slight bitter finish. I will compare this to Maui’s CoCoNut Porter and say that for a "Seasonal" they perhaps should step up the alcohol content. Very good. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - DEC 19, 2007
Thanks to Hellbilly for this! Not as robust as I was expecting, however this is a very sessionable porter. Hints of coffee on the nose, sweet well rounded mouthfeel, with notable coffee and chocolate flavors. a very slight bitter finish omhper (25256) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 19, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2008 Bottled. Near black, minimal head. Evident coffee aroma. medium sweet with dense, rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by coffee and roasty malt flavours. Fairly laid back and with medium bitterness. hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Bottle... Extremely dark beer that only reveals its true, blood red crimson hue when held up to the sun. Small, fizzy, light brown head that’s gone in a flash. Sweet mocha nose… lots of milk chocolate and coffee. Rich, moderately sweet, mildly bitter, chocolate flavor with tons of delicious, dark roasted, Hawaiian coffee. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, modestly sweet, mocha finish… ends up mildly bitter. raphael (1269) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 16, 2007
I do smell the coffee, a little chocolate, also some citrus, subtle. no head, from a bottle, very dark. a little greasy in the mouth, weight plus slick, slight carbonation. the roasted malt flavor balanced by the coffee, chocolate, brown sugar tones, a bit of bitterness cresting from the hops—good overall balance, west coast style (bottled in Portland.)

Very nice black brown color with good head. Smooth coffee smell and taste. Creamy and smooth on the tongue but not heavy at all. Just easy to drink and flavorful - a winner to me!
From a 12-ounce bottle, pours a clear but opaque deep mahogany color with a slight tan head. Big coffee aroma. Medium body, very creamy mouthfeel. Even dry/sweet dark malt flavor with complementing but pronounced coffee character. Nice job. jimhilt (2611) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 13, 2007
Pours with a light brown, two-finger head that goes quickly to a thin layer, leaving a trace of lace. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Deep mahogany color. Nose is roasted coffee. Flavor is smooth, slight sweetness with strong coffee, clean finish. $1.99 for a 12oz bottle from Haggens Beaverton, OR. highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - DEC 11, 2007
Is this a coffee-infused beer or a beer-infused coffee? I’ve had stronger coffee-ales than this but none that accord the beans this sort of prominence. Caffeine addicts, this is your beer. Alternatively, if you don’t like coffee, move along - there’s nothing for you here. This porter smells like a barista moved in next door and began grinding. It’s special. Pipeline was mahogany-coloured with a stunted head. The Hawaiian beans dominate the aroma but there’s a whiff of dark chocolate and rubber sole. Skinny frame, dull carbonation. Sour milk flavours, burnt coffee grounds and a dry, sweet finish. Lactic. Didn’t like this as much as I expected. Lacks balance IMO. (Bottle courtesy of Linc at Ecze’s 2007 Sydney RB gathering. Thanks to both.) Dogbrick (13146) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 10, 2007
Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. This Porter is a deep dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that has decent retention. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee and hops, plus some roasted grain. Medium body with a nice coffee character. Roasted malt, hops and chocolate flavors are all present. The finish is maintains the coffee flavoring with some burnt malt and leaves a lingering hops aftertaste. This beer is pretty solid all around.
