Bottled 11/29/11...lets be honest here, in New Hampshire. Smells like dark roast iced coffee with some chocolate infused as well. Oily looking dark brown beer. Sweet coffee and toffee...just what one expects from a domestic porter. The coffee content assists the hopping in creating a great bitter background and finish. Thick and heavy, this may not be the best brew for a Hawaiian vacation. But winters in NH....

Nice mild simple porter. light carb and light sweetness, its kinda milky on the backside which is nice. reminds me a bit more of a sweet stout than a regular porter, just not as creamy. was expecting more roast to come through but this wasnt the case. Still pretty nice overall.

Pours virtually black from the bottle and leaves a creamy, tan head. Aroma is used coffee grounds. Taste is mildly bitter with both coffee and dark chocolate notes. The overall combination left an odd peppery note in the mouth - as though I was eating a raw bell pepper on the side. Medium bodied. Was served to me a bit colder than I would like and thus a rerate candidate.

The beer pours like a porter and looks like a porter. However, it is infused with coffee, to me tastes like you have a porter beer, then youre already a bit too drunk and pour in some Folgers to the beer, and voila, its the Pipeline beer. Maybe its because im so used to porters, but the coffee taste to this beer doesnt blend enough. Not a bad beer, but next time Ill just get a porter.

A middle of the road coffee Porter. Very thin body and faint in aroma and flavor. A good choice to knock bag with a steak dinner. Kona brews better on the lighter side of the style spectrum with their golden ale and pales.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2016 Pours the standard black with almost no head. Certainly smells the part...delicious roasty coffee dominates, with hints of mocha and vanilla. Taste is a muted version of the smell of this brew; coffee and toasted malt. I have to say that the mouthfeel is very disappointing for this one. When I enjoy a porter I expect a heartier chewier beer. This one is very thin and watery. Overall this one isn?t bad; aroma and flavor are on point. The thin watery palate is holding this porter back from being great

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is coffee, slightly burnt coffee, roasted malts, sticks, caramel and toffee. Taste is slightly weaker version of the aroma with some tang and carbonation. Not bad.
