On tap 11/23. Pours dark brown color with a medium tan head and light lacing. Smells of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, chocolate and slight a roastyness. There was a wierd aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with light carbonation. Good attempt at a coffee porter, but it would have been better with a little more coffee added.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is coffee, slightly burnt coffee, roasted malts, sticks, caramel and toffee. Taste is slightly weaker version of the aroma with some tang and carbonation. Not bad.

Poured from the tap into a 20 OZ mug at the Taco Mac in Atlanta, GA. The appearance is a dark brown to black color with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt and a little coffee. The taste was more coffee driven. I really enjoyed this beer.

Aroma: very roasty with coffee notes; Appearance: pitch black with thin offwhite head that dissipates slowly; Taste: follows nose with some sweetness and nicely complex finish; main body a little lacking; Palate: heavy body with long, roasty finish; Overall: decent porter; coffee didnt add much but would buy again.

Coffee is most noticeable in the aroma but there are less-pronounced scents of chocolate and freshly turned earth. Body is unusually light for a porter. The finish has light dryness but no bitterness. Poured from a bottle to create a respectable head.

Bottle from the Wine Boutique in Felixstowe, and shared at the 3rd Ipswich bottle share. Pours a deep purple brown colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of blackberry, coffee, winter berries and dark fruit. Curious sweetness and no descernible bitterness. Medium body but weak texture. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish, with some light roasted coffee. Didnt enjoy this one much.

Bottle. Moderate toasted, bread dark chocolate and strong coffee for the malt, light resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Head is small, creamy, light tan with good slippery lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, slick with a soft to lively carbonation and a dry finish. A solid Porter with everything in the right place.

Out of the bottle poured a deep black, opaque, with a thin lasting tan head. I got notes of coffee, chocolate, cola, sweet roasted malt, and blackstrap molasses. No hops that I could detect, but some slight roasted malt bitterness. Surprisingly light bodied and drinkable.

Pour is nice.. lite tan head floats on top of a bubbly cold cup of coffee... little lacing, but sticks around for a while. Smell is fantstic... coffee and porters go hand in hand. Smell is deep and fresh ground and fresh brewed coffee. Roasted grains are easily mistaken for the coffee and no real hops to mention. Could use a little sweetness... but oh well. Taste is the same... big rich java.. roasty grains are also all over the place... Coffee acidity is easily mistaken for a good bracing of American hops. A little watery on the mouthfeel... needs some sweetness... lactose (milk) ... or caramel malts (sugar) ... still very nice.
