COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor’s Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Hazy gold. Wheaty, yeasty, fruity aroma. Taste is similar. Dry wheat malt with some light sweetness and tartness from the passion fruit. Crisp and refreshing but not very exciting. Decent overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy golden color with minimal white head. Wheat aroma, small amount of fruit too. Lighter body. Hint of passion fruit, kind of wish there was a more pronounced flavor there. Still not bad for a warm weather beer.

Draft sampler at brewery, hazy yellow beer, no head. Aroma is wheet, light malt, lemon. Taste is banana, coriander, Touch of citrus. Palate is medium, carbonation subdued.

A little hints of passion fruit in the nose. Apperance is bright yellow with nice lacing up the side of the glass. No head on this beer at all. Taste was not all there, I got no passion fruit at all. I got a wheat taste though. Palate had some hints of stale bread. Overall no to impressed.

Tropical fruit aroma with a very watery taste not a big fan of kona and their offerings.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is mild fermented pinapple, some murky wheat notes. Taste is slight pineapple, earthy grain. Very muddy flavors and goes soggy pretty quickly.

Wheat, light fruity aroma. Cloudy golden in color. A light wheat ale with some passion fruit and finishes with citrus. Leaves you thirsting for another sip.

Pours a hazy dark golden yellow color. Aromas of malts, a touch of honey. Flavor is the same as the nose, nice malt taste with honey like sweetness. Smooth hop finish, medium body with a quick aftertaste.

basaywhat (306) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2016
12 oz bottle. LIght fruity wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Just like the nose, light fruity wheat malt flavor with an odd subtle bitterness in the finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Golden hue with very soft haze. Passionfruit is mainly noticeable in the aroma, alongside grain and wheat. Somewhat nondeScript flavor is clean and lagerlike, with a dry finish but no fruits. There’s beer here, not overpowering fruit (which is nice) but I could use just a little bit more passion.
