12 Oz Bottle. My first Hawaiian beer and my last of 2007. Awkward aroma of salted, stale passionfruit paste, light miso, and stewed barley. A lightly intriguing interplay between the dusty floor malt and the sprightly, sour passionfruit. Pours a strikingly clear gold, no head. Flavor moves between stale bread, guava candy, and moderately bitter herbal seeds. Nondescript. Fruit doesn’t significantly impact the mediocre jist of the lightly sour, dusty, bland, a weakly hopped wort. Hops retain light gumminess. Finishes surprisingly clean. For a wheat beer with fruit added, it’s a pretty good pale lager. In the end, it’s kind of like me on this New Year’s Eve, bitter and bored. Finishes on light cream donut. Thanks for the hookup, Sean! drseamus (103) - Troy, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2007
I got this beer on tap at the brewery while I was on vacation there. This is a wheat beer with passion fruit (lilikoi) added at the end of the mash. The passion fruit is apparent in both the aroma and the taste. It pours a straw colored beer with a white head. As mentioned before, the aroma is dominated by the passion fruit. The taste also has good passion fruit flavor, but not as strongly as the aroma. There are also wheat flavors and a good tartness to balance the fruit. It drinks very smoothly and has a light to medium body. This would be an excellent warm weather session beer for anyone who likes slightly fruity beers. jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - DEC 4, 2007
On-tap, served in a standard bar pint glass.
Poured a hazy pale straw yellow with an frothy white head that slowly settled into a thin sudsy lacing, light amount of sticky lace at the brim of the glass.
I could smell the passion fruit as the bartender brought the pint over to where I was sitting, bright and fresh smelling, mainly the plump pulp of the passion fruit, a unique sweet and sourness. Faint malt backing of crackery wheat.
The passion fruit is a bit more laid back in the taste, just a splash of juice, mildly tart and sweet, mixing nicely with the wheat malts. The wheat malts are dry saltine cracker-like. This has the light bodied feel one would expect for this type of wheat ale, quite easy to consume. Finishes dry with passion fruit juice flavor being pushed aside by the wheat grainy crackers.
I liked this fruity wheat ale from Kona, went well with the club sandwich I had for lunch today.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold, white head that disapates quickly. Aroma is wheat dominated, maybe some malt. Flavor was again wheat, malt and in the background, passionfruit, not enough there, it was hiding, teased you, then disappeared. EricDanger (23) - USA - OCT 10, 2007
Bought a 6-pack of 12 oz
Wow......waaayyyy too much passion fruit in this one. If your looking for a wine-cooler in beer form, this is for you.

thin and watery. very little aroma but what little there is being passion fruit. dominating passion fruit flavor with a little grain. easy drinking and not too sweet to turn me away but very simple. KingpinIPA (841) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 26, 2007
Bottle from my bro who brought it from Hawaii. Cloudy golden color. Smell of wheat, malt, citrus and wine. Taste of malt, wheat, citrus, tart and dry. At sometimes, theres to much wheat, and other times, there is to much sweetness.
