Danish: Julebryg fra Kongens Bryghus er et godt bud på øl, som det smagte, da man gik til bords med julemaden i slutningen af det 18. århundrede.

Bottle. 6.6%. Best before 10.04.18. Pours a clear, deep golden/amber, with a diminishing, light tan head. Bit of lacing. Fruity, malty and metallic aroma, the latter diminishing as it warms, opening up for light fat and spicy notes. Remote hints of cherry and cloves, deep down. Flavour is malty, (overripe) fruit and slightly fat, with a hint of a metallic overtone. Light spicy note and a sugary hint as it warms, followed by a light berry/cherry note and a remote hint of cloves. Finish is bitter and fruity, bordering grainy, with a hint of an alcohol burn. Lingering light hops and green apple notes. A bit dry. Overall okay, but a bit boring; also, all of the spices etc. it’s been brewed with are rather downplayed; some barely, some not even, noticeable. 25.05.17.

Taste is sweet caramel, banana, toffee and hints of bread dough, dusty hops, syrup and faint metal. Medium body and carbonation. Sticky and sweet, and not very exciting.

En god dyb smag, ikke brunkager men fyldig karamel og mild humle. En god juleøl da den også kan drikkes på andre tidspunkter
