COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Appearance - golden yellow color with nice foamy white head. This is a beer that if you were to see it on a summer’s day, you’d just absolutely want to chug it immediately. Aroma & Taste - they say it tastes citrussy, but I actually found it less citrussy in the sense that it’s not really sour like lemons or apples or oranges, nor is it dry like white wines. Rather, this witbier has isolated that crispness or freshness from the wheat reaaaally well. A nice, sunny, green, grassy-hoppy, wheaty freshness with a gorgeous bread-doughy yeastiness (in contrast to the banana-y belgian yeast that one might expect after having tasted some of La Trappe’s other more well-known beers). Palate - nice and drinkable without being watery. Perfectly fizzy as well (this is definitely not a soda). Overall - Very refreshing, and way better than a lot of the other witbieren and weizen that I’ve tried simply due to the fact that has more body, that it has a more grassy, bready yeast quality to it complimenting the wheaty freshness really well. Possibly my favorite witbier to date. This tastes like the wheat harvest in a bottle.

Pale not hazy at all almost filtered appearance. Citrus wheat atoma. Slight doughy yeast. Spices, orange, small wheat presence which opens up more in the finish. Tastes really nice. Light, satisfying, a good example of the style.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2017 Birra dal colore giallo paglierino opalescente. Schiuma fine e moderatamente persistente.
