almost black colour, minimal creamy darker beige head, which disappears fully within 1-2 minutes; aroma of dried plum, some raisins and dried sour cherry soaked in cognac, coffee, toast and dark chocolate; taste is the same with some syrupy, ash and herbal liqueur notes; definitely a masterpiece of the baltic porters!

Recognizable beer, aroma of chocolate and coffee, a bit of rum, maybe other sweet alcohols. Really malty, lots of sweetness with a strong, bitter, roasted notes on the aftertaste. Elegant and balanced.

Bardzo pyszny. Ładny branding, polski, pasuje do takiego piwa. 9%, więc bywają mocniejsze portery, ale woltaż i tak godny. Kawa i paloność w aromacie, pełna faktura. Wart swej reputacji.

Bardzo dobre piwo, choć dla mnie nieco zbyt palone a za mało czekoladowe. Jeden z lepszych porterw bałtyckich.

500ml bottle, from trade with Gebels. Many thanks! Pours an unsurprising black, small tan head. Aroma is rich dark malts, dark fruits. Taste is rich, meaty, woody with liquorice, layered dark malts, chocolate and ash. Ticking all the correct boxes. Very good.

W zapachu dominuje kawa. Piana ładna, kremowa, oblepia szklankę do końca.

Bottle 0,5l Expire date: 03.05.2014 Dark brown, dark ruby color. Huge creamy, pale brown foam. Aroma: roasted malts, raisins, dried fruits (plums), caramel, cherry liqueur, some porto wine. Love this smell. Taste: balance between sweet and bitter. Roasted malts, cherry, dark chocolate, raisins, dried fruits, coffee and chocolate liqueur. Long warming finish. Full body with a thick texture. For me one of the greatest Polish Baltic Porter.

Bottle, many thanks to the kindness of the great Eldesmadre. Its an honour to try this beer, not only because I particularly love Baltic Porters, but also for its name. Its not always that you can get a traditional beer formally named after a shag. So, this has a nice, dark, coca cola appearance, very dark, with a nice light beige head, rather bubbly to start with. The aromas are a mix of dark chocolate, caramels and plums. Very enticing to the nose. Drinking this beer was nice and warming, with flavours full of dark chocolates, dulce de leche, cherry liquor, plums and all sorts of forest fruits. Talking about all sorts, some interesting liquorice presence too. I can get molasses and plenty of booze. In spite of that noticeable alcohol, it is easy and terribly pleasant to drink. Theres a mild bitterness, from a herbal source, perhaps from that boozy, spicy Schnapps-type of flavour. Medium bodied, with less carbonation than initially suggested by the appearance. Delightful stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2017 In front of me there is a wonderful bottle with black label depicting a silhouette of a wolf howling at the Moon. Pleasant and rich aroma consisting of dark dried fruits (plums, ripe raisins, figs) dipped in milk chocolate, notable scent of of liqorice, hint of caramel coffee and buckwheat honey as well. Color is dark brown yet clear, deep ruby light reflexes. Low head despite rigorous pouring, reduces to surface cover quickly. Medium body. Explosion of "dark tastes"; ripe dark dried fruits and liquorice, good roastiness with some sour accents. Medium and notable bitterness. Goes down the throat smooth, inviting for another sip. Polish Baltic Porter - AS IT SHOULD BE.
