San Franciso, Suppenkuche is the real post here, the place was amazing for selection and food, this beer was good but honestly didn’t write down my tasting, just logging for my own records

Draft @ Drafting Room, Exton. Lemon zest and malt aroma. Taste is very sweet and malty with the slightest bit of a Bristish yeast. Nothing special but just too damn sweet.

Tap at the Glen Gardner Inn. Golden, clear, white head. Sherried malt aroma. Malty honey flavor. Big malts. Slight old German beer flavor. May have been an old keg. Tastey none-the-less.

On tap at Ludwigs. Pours golden with a thick white head. Nose was very sweet with honey, caramel and alcohol. Taste was quite nice with honey, caramel malts and a pretty good alcohol feel. Pretty good but unmemorable.

A lesser known German brewery, found at Ludwig’s in Philly. Lace in glass, metalic, sour and dry. Yellow appearance.

JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 2, 2003
On tap at the Essen Haus in Madison, WI. All the stein club members were drinking this in hopes that we would finish it and get a fresh barrel of oktoberfest on tap. No luck while I was there. Dark golden color with a tall off white head. Floral hops and sweet malt dominate the head. Sweet and floral in flavor. Alcohol hints throughout the quaff.

2.9
Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - JUL 14, 2003
On tap at der Steinkeller. A very strong maibock, suspiciously unlike other examples of the style. Poured amber, with no head (might have been a bit flat?). Sweet, malty aroma. The flavor suggested unfermented or incompletely fermented malts: very sweet, with a harsh aftertaste, almost barleywine-like in nature. Rather harsh alcohol notes were evident as well. An odd example of the style, for sure.
