poisoneddwarf (2710) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - FEB 18, 2018
16.9 oz can. One of those beers that I can't believe I've never rated. Pours black with brown highlights and a large beige head with excellent retention. Aroma is dark bread, chalky, malt. Taste is lightly sweet, finishing lightly bitter and dry. Flavors of bread, chocolate, toasted marshmallow, coffee. Could use a bit more carbonation. Not bad, but a bit bland.

samsomuk (510) - Bridgwater, Somerset, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2018
On keg at Alstadt Hotel, Versmold, NW Germany. Pours clear dark brown to black with a tan top. Aroma: dark malts, lightly roasted malts, earthy, hints of smoke & coffee. Taste: light sweet, light bitter, roasted malts, hints of red berries & caramel. Light bodied, average carb. Dry, light bitter finish

janubio (998) - SPAIN - FEB 6, 2018
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2018 Dark colour with red tones to the light, medium head with short retention, normal lace. Aroma of chocolate, red fruits, a bit smokey, malts. Full body, viscose texture, normal carbonation. Sweet finish. Taste of chocolate, coffee notes, red fruits, caramel and a bit smokey too. Good drink.

Bosskie (985) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 1, 2018
Pitch black, clear, persistent white head. Smell is ashy, metallic, hint of liquorice, nuts. Taste is fresh watery, nice bitterness, light ash, hint of coal and liquorice. Finish is lightly astringent.

julesxxl (526) - Cholet, FRANCE - JAN 22, 2018
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2018 (noir vertigineux, malt torréfié, à la fois onctueux (bourratif) et plat, bonne amertume, bonne levure)

IOzh (201) - Kyiv, UKRAINE - JAN 19, 2018
330ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, malts. Light body with soft carbonation. Light bittersweet taste with dry finish.

donalg (134) - Cork, IRELAND - JAN 13, 2018
Bottle from Matsons in cork. Pours black with tan head. Earthy, toasty, roasted malts in the aroma. Spice, earthy, roasts, toast, coffee flavour with a hint of chocolate and smoke. It has a thicker texture than I expected. Nice beer with plenty malt flavours with earthy European hops in the background.

ehaak26 (778) - - JAN 6, 2018
Bottle from Beer of the Month delivery. Aroma of roasted malts. Very thin palate.

thomashall (1602) - New Hope, Minnesota, USA - JAN 6, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 On tap at Black Forest Inn German restaurant. Dark brown pour. Aroma is dark malts, yet sweet. Taste is sweet up front, dry and slightly ashy but delicious. Good stuff.
